Hai,

Going on a trip, having difficulties choosing which camer I take with me. Will only take 1 and 1 lens aswell.

Konica T3N with 50mm 1.7 Hexanon
Olympus OM2 with 50mm 1.8 Zuiko
Nikon Fe with 50mm E-series 1.8
Pentax K1000 with 50mm 1.7 or 1.4 OR 35mm 3.5
Pentax ME F with 50 mm 1.7 or 1.4 OR 35mm 3.5

Any suggestions

Pentax K1000 with the 50mm.
Sturdy for accidents, cheap if it gets stolen or you forget it somewhere and can be used as a weapon if someone tries to rob from you

(I always see in this way, since you never know the odds of happening something like this)

Take the Oly and with the size and weight you save you can take another lens, or the tiny 35 - 70 zoom that is hardly bigger than the 50.

Pentax ME F with 1.7 lens is smaller and lighter than the OM2..

The question to ask is: are they all functional?

If the answer is yes, I would pick up the Olympus because of the size.

It really does not matter. Just randomly pick one.

Doesn't matter. You'll come back with the same pictures from all of them.

Questions: How much walking do you plan on doing?
Will you shoot landscapes or cityscapes?
Which camera do you think is the most reliable?

If you plan on doing a lot of walking and shooting landscapes then the ME and 35. For reliability the K1000 or Konica T. Sharpest lens, my vote is the Konica 1.7.

Either the K1000 with a 1.7 or the FE with the 1.8. Both are cheap to replace if they get stolen or broken.

Take the one you are most familiar and comfortable with.

Good point that! BTW, as a Pentaxian I'm unfamiliar with the ME-F. It isn't listed on the database developed by Pentaxforums.com.

It is the camera that came with pentax's first auto focus lens. It is pretty much just an me super.

Olympus OM2 with 50mm 1.8 Zuiko small fast bright VF. I have the OMG and it is going with me everywhere

Easy, the Pentax ME. Compact as the OM2 but a better camera overall.
Second choice would be the Fe which I also used on a trip. But the Pentax has the M-series lenses which are more compact than most Nikon lenses.

The K1000 is a brick in comparison, and is a bastard mutant child of the sweet Spotmatic...

either the FE or the OM2. I like the FE better but the series E lens while works fine but doesn't look good.
Don't know much about the T3N.
Definitely not recommend the K1000 unless the price is like free for the body. The f/1.7 or f/1.4 lens is good. The f/2.0 lens is not.
ME-F is better than the K1000 but I just don't like it as much as the FE or OM-2 as it's manual is more like an add on.

OM2

Well, you can take the k1000+50mm and when you get to your destination sell it and buy om1.

Leave the cameras at home and buy postcards. You are only going to stand in the same spot as the pro and take the same picture and end up with results not as good.
Plus no worries about theft and no camera to distract you.

When going on a trip, I usually choose the camera I feel is most reliable. Camera trouble can spoil the trip.
