I don't think he's advertising because he isn't selling anything, but his love for pinhole photography?

I've thought about it, but as Bert mentioned, I'm not selling anything. I'm just trying to spread the pinhole message. In the spirit of full disclosure, I put advertising on my site to try and recoup some of the moderate hosting costs, but in the last 60 days, I've made $6.50 on advertising  So I'll probably take the ads off as they're not benefitting anyone involved.

At some point in future I may start selling something (maybe books or print folios some day - some product that helps get pinhole photographer's work seen more). As it is now, the pinhole forum is the only place I use APUG. I try to also give back to the pinhole forum in other ways, by jumping in anytime someone has a question about pinhole that I can help answer. I'm also trying to keep the general activity level up in the APUG pinhole forum so that it stays alive. Otherwise, I'm seeking to build a collection of pinhole photography. I can't tell you how many times I've been out pinholing myself and some curious person asks what in the world I'm doing, and I can show them ƒ/D. The reaction is ALWAYS massive surprise at what can be done with a pinhole camera. So I kinda take the "rising tide lifts all boats" attitude - the more people who come to pinhole, the more ideas and hybridization of creativity we'll have.

In any case, I don't use much of APUG outside of this forum, but what the hell... subscribed :D

Good for you! And thanks for promoting pinhole photography. NedL and I try the same from time to time.

Yes, thanks for subscribing; and thanks for providing inspiring examples of the medium.

When I was out on WPPD this year with my 8x10 pinhole (which is hard to miss!) two guys of perhaps late high school or early college age stopped and asked about it. They seem quite impressed with the camera and the concept and wished me a successful day. They also called me "sir" twice during the discussion which pretty well demolished some of the rants I've heard about self-centered millennials! :D

I have occasionally thought when I go out like that I should carry some sort of small portfolio/binder with some example prints, and maybe even an actual negative to use for "visuals." (Might also be useful if questioned by gendarmes about my activities!) But the last couple of years, the time slot around WPPD has been so busy I congratulate myself for remembering the camera. :whistling:

Very cool - people do like to talk to you when pinholing. Every time I'm out pinholing in a populated area, I probably show 3 or 4 people my Flickr account for examples of the medium. They're always, universally, blown away (not by the quality of my but by what can be done)

I've just started playing with pinhole myself. I think this was my sixth or eighth ever pinhole image - Ilford FP4+ in a 65mm f208 pinhole on a Travelwide 4x5 camera:

I have had a busy week printing several of this image (below), titled "The Piano", in a c.1860s Victorian Goldrush-era home (no electricity or utilities). The image was unplanned and took place on the spur of the moment during an unscheduled stop to an artist's residence. The dusty grand old piano in the corner made a very ghostly scene, with a gentle breeze ruffling the thin curtains on the window.

Delta P3200 exposed at EI 12500/8 minutes, pushed +1 in a ZeroImage 6x9 MF SE pinhole camera (set to 6x6).
Presently printed to 16x16" to enunciate grain, contrast and detail.
