Or the price increase comes from the wholesaler. My local film shop told me that KodakAlaris, Fujifilm and Harman/Ilford Photo are all using wholesalers in Europe. So even big online shops like Fotoimpex cannot buy directly at the big three, but must buy via wholesalers. That increases the...
I just now placed an order for a shelf package of 4 x 10L of Kodak Flexicolor Developer Replenisher C-41. From Cinestill. That's enough to make more than 40 liters of working strength Developer. I have the required starter for the developer and the bleach, fixer and final rinse in stock...
Oh, that's a good point; thanks for bringing this up. Now you mention it, there has been this problem with x-rayed Portra on the Chinese market. Maybe that's the cause; it's very well possible!
No, that's not the problem and long fixing will not make the dyes in Portra become colorless...
Many Portra400s have X-ray and heat fogging problems. Please make sure you buy the imported films from KodakAlaris dealers. In China, I usually recommend you to buy from "柯达产品经营部".
By the cyan D-min of the film.I think your problem with the film itself.
Another problem is that your fixing time...

I didn't see this posted elsewhere here. Sorry if I missed it.
Of course, I was talking about Fujifilm 200/400. Fujifilm C400 is a made up fantasy.
Which Kodak film did you find in short supply in the last year?
Thanks @aranzebia! This pretty much kills the hope Fuji is coating film in China :(
Hopefully, Kodak will make up the difference in film available now that KodakAlaris was sold to a private investor that has money to invest to expand operations, (assuming Eastman Kodak's production doesn't slow things down.)
The best estimate I could make from combing financials is about one-third.
In terms of print reporting element making more money... a lot more.
EDIT: No matter, the best news is that both Eastman Kodak and KodakAlaris openly support photographic film, even though it is a minority/niche product.
Catching up after taking a holiday. I am now cautiously optimistic rather than cautiously pessimistic. It seems that Alaris wants to grow it's business while retaining the distribution chain for Kodak consumer films. In the short term this probably means no change whatsoever for us. Medium term...
...made on photography forums seems to be the belief that Eastman Kodak is predominantly a photographic film manufacturing company and KodakAlaris is predominantly a photographic film marketing company. Both are technology companies with enough insight to know how to diversify their business...
So there's different , Kodak standard and B&H, perfs on still and movie Ektachrome? I have a 400' roll and 135, I suppose I could check.
Makes sense that there's different perfs.
...camera use. this is likly to take advantage of the price difference between Movie and still film.
{example B&H shows US 21.99 forKodak alaris ektachrome and 17.99 for ektachrome 5294 repacked by Flic film. - both the same emulsion, although one is BH perforated}
If I was looking at...
Unless, perhaps, one was working for the two KodakAlaris business units sold in FY21, PPDS and AI Foundry. AS you noted, KodakAlaris has been in a continual state of evolution with numerous business changes, while still maintaining their core business activities.
For me the thing to be...
...was Kodak Limited, not Eastman Kodak, and the separate pension fund that is and was the fund that until recently owned the shares in KodakAlaris, is the UK based Pension fund that was paid into by Kodak Limited for so many years. Eastman Kodak wasn't involved with the creation or...
I assume the pension requirements currently refers to current employees of Alaris, not the original retirees before the bankruptcy which are covered by Eastman Kodak funding as assigned by the bankruptcy court? What protection do BRitish employees have regarding promises for their retiree...
...The pandemic era was when the Board squelched the initial sale plans largely, it seems, that they were showing profit based (and this is their words) on continuing demand for film and the selective increase in prices. KodakAlaris Holdings did not hide htis information and published it openly.
...the shortfall, the Pension Protection Fund administrators have taken over administration of the fund from the independent trustees.
But KodakAlaris has nothing to do with that. KodakAlaris is just a relatively new corporate asset that was paying profits to its shareholders - the pension...
Thanks for the clarification on the movie studio deals.
When was that... KodakAlaris offering to sell back to Eastman Kodak? The KodakAlaris Holdingings LTD Board has been working on selling KodakAlaris/Moments since 2018 but effort that was shut down about 2020-2021, and apparently...
In the last years there have been hundreds of advertisements for film by KodakAlaris (and Polaroid, Harman / Ilford Photo, Fujifilm, Adox, CineStill etc.) online on all relevant social media channels (instagram, facebook, youtube, twitter), and also in printed photography magazines. In case of...
The complete movie film business has always been run by Eastman Kodak. KodakAlaris was never ever involved in it (no participitation, no shares, no marketing, nothing at all).
Also the Hollywood contracts were contracts between Eastman Kodak and several Hollywood film studios.
Also because of...
The more I think about it, the more it makes sense that Kingswood would not have bought Alaris unless they already initialed a deal to buy Eastman's film manufacturing rights and possibly all of Kodak's patents. Buying Alaris first and hoping to make a deal with Eastman later is too risky and...
Personally speaking... I like Kodak color products and would miss them if htey disappeared. I'm hoping that Kingswood keeps Alaris going as they currently are. I wasnot really aware of Kinbgswood until yesterday so know only what is inther website, and that is marketing stuff with no real...
I've heard about the Hollywood contracts too but never saw details so don't have any real information to offer, or even repond to. Are you sure that those Hollywood, or the legacy government contracts, were transferred to Alaris or could they still be direct with Eastman Kodak?
What gives you...
Dynamic Kingswood is not a sleepy-headed KodakAlaris. Why would Kingswood, an American firm, just purchase film distribution rights of an obscure little British firm if they can get complete ownership of an American icon, the Kodak film manufacturing company including its patents etc...
I'm confused as to the arrangement. How do the retirees get their pension money? Does Kingswood have any responsibility now that they own the KA shares?
