If that ever happened, it would be Sino Promise who are doing the hiring.
My sense is that there is still a fair bit of interaction between all three - Eastman Kodak, KodakAlaris and Sino Promise.
When I spoke with Andy Church of Kodak-Alaris (some months ago now) I think the phrase was "we are pretty much the only people coating colour film right now".
But Fuji appear to be back in the game. Despite the nay-sayers who see every piece of news, every press release and every tea-leaf...
Eastman Kodak is maxed out producing 35mm. KodakAlaris is trying to make money. It's still a bit crazy with suppliers and distribution. Kodak can charge what they do because they are the King! The best of the best!
KodakAlaris' website still has some old datasheets. It appears that Eastman Kodak, pre reorganization, sold a one gallon RA4 Developer, not a replenisher, a Developer. This could be used directly as a one shot developer.
This is shown in J39. This same publication specified use of starter on...
...and run through a Kodak Brownie. I did this after I became aware of the problem - in fact from film that had already been replaced by KodakAlaris (who didn't require that the potentially defective film be returned). In other words, I knew there was a possibility that the numbers and...
But it is present in too little a weight percent (0.1 - < 1) to play a role as a significant developing agent once the concentrate is diluted into working solution. It was suggested, IIRC, by @Pixophrenic in a previous discussion on this subject that Catechol plays the role of a preservative in...
The email to contact at KodakAlaris was and probably still is profilm@kodakalaris.com.
In recent years, problems with backing paper have beset every manufacturer of 120 film.
In Kodak's case, they manifested themselves mainly by way of wrapper offset - in this case the interaction between the...
Back in 2020, Kodak posted results of their testing

...and will provide the same longevity as earlier versions.
The concern about continuing manufacture relates to the problems that Sino Promise Holdings have been having due to Covid-19. They are the entity that bought the Kodak chemical and colour photographic paper businesses from KodakAlaris.
Can someone explain this or try to explain what all this means? Sensitometers emitting light? At-the-film? What would non-sensitometric measurement (that other manufacturers are apparently using) look like...?
Thomas J. Mooney is the "Film Capture Business Manager" at KodakAlaris, and has served as an excellent contact person over the years for a number of Kodak film related issues.
I finally heard back from Kodak - Alaris. A Thomas Mooney sent this email update.
Thanks for contacting KodakAlaris
As you’ve noted, no compensation is required for EKTACHROME E100 for exposures of up to 10 secs. For exposures between 20 and 40 seconds I recommend adding ½ stop of exposure...
I've heard back from another source.
There is a reason why Kodak (neither Eastman, nor Alaris) never reports reciprocity failure data past 10 seconds of exposure. That reason is that all such Kodak data is based strictly on sensitometric measurements, and there are not in existence any...
Thanks Alan. I have been playing around with the calculator and it also seems to be a good item to test with. I base that on the fact while testing it with the Velvia 50 it was almost spot on with my many year cheat sheet I've used. I will also say that I played around with Provia and was truly...
KodakAlaris just advised me the following: no compensation is required for EKTACHROME E100 for exposures of up to 10 secs. For exposures between 20 and 40 seconds he recommends adding ½ stop of exposure as a good starting point. For critical applications, make tests under your conditions.
He...
Kodak - either Eastman or Alaris - has always been reluctant to provide information on reciprocity failure outside the range specified in the datasheets. I expect that may be due to how subjective the evaluation is in that circumstance - due to the changed contrast one encounters arising from...
Thank you, Matt. The scarcity of V-50 after 30 plus years usage is forcing me to expand into other options. The 10 seconds is what I found also. Which is not bad when I'm use to 4 seconds. However, as I ALWAYS photograph in predawn & post sunset V-50 reciprocity was always an issue. I have one...
...of the bottlenecks in production - primarily in relation to the finishing/confectioning part of production; and
4) in conjunction with KodakAlaris, get product into the worldwide distribution chains.
They have limited capital - which impacts many parts of the production chain - and a small...
A interesting point I had not heard of yet*, even when PET CN in 135 was offered in the past.
But KodakAlaris, Lomography are now just offering PET based film to a clientele that typically takes/sends it out for processing, which of course includes minilab-machines too.
*aside of the Labbox
So if KodakAlaris wants to make any money off of you, they’re going to have to come out with a panoramic version that offers twelve exposures on a roll of 36.
I doubt this requires upsizing production capacity, it just requires running at capacity for some time to refill the pipeline once they're able to produce all products (i.e. after the supply chain recovers). They were handling things fairly well on the film production side before the pandemic.
No need for 800. I bought a 5 roll Propack of Portra 160 35mm last week from Samy's. They don't have any now.
Sad, perfect mess for EKCo and KodakAlaris. People are going crazy for film and there's not enough to go around.
They share in the decisions.
Because Eastman Kodak won't make it unless KodakAlaris will order it and re-sell it.
And KodakAlaris won't order it and re-sell it unless Eastman Kodak can make it, in the quantities and at a price that make it viable for KodakAlaris to order it and re-sell it...
Problem is none of us knows the details of that cintract. We do not even know the basics: is KodakAlaris the decisionmaker concerning still films and Eastnman Kodak just a tollmanufacturer to order, or is Eastman Kodak the decisionmaker concerning products.
