I am trying to find a specific camera, it is a studio camera that is on wheels I believe it a linhof karden , but as I get older my memory fades. any help would be appreciated.

I believe the wheels are separate from the camera.
How far back are we going?

The deluxe 796
camera system looks right for the base, I just seem to remember a more Art Deco feel - does Colour Karden ring a bell?
I remember the system was not separate from each other but a combo.

Ok I am embarrassed it looks like the deluxe 796 states Color Kardan so it must be this unit.

Yes, but the 'unit' can be separated. The camera and the studio stand are not fixed.
I have the studio stand and use it with any of my cameras, regardless of make or model.
Here, for example with a Linhof Kardan Bi.

thanks I will start to look for one of the stands.

I want one of those Gigant stands and enough space to use it. They just look insane.

I would put it in my front window when not using it, I use my small exhibition space ( beautiful north light ) to do my Consumption Series work, I only use 8x10 or 4x5 , I would love to find one and put on an appropriate camera that has a 4 x 5 reducing back and long bellows, the search will continue .

Bob,
Check around the remaining professional photographers in Toronto who might still have or once have had studio portrait spaces.
I'll bet there are some who have - possibly through inheritance - something designed to do this in their storage spaces.
And perhaps with a plaque of acknowledgement, they might be happy to have what they have see the light of day and public view.

Hi Matt - I will make a post with CAPIC members , you are right this would be the most logical place to start.
