Andrew since you use releases all the time, I see the winder lets you use the standard release while the body takes an electronic release. i surmise your father in law had an electronic release stashed somewhere.

Wife's uncle, actually 😁 I'll definitely ask him about that. Thanks.

As well, yes the Mamiya seems to be set for 15 images. The Contax does do 16 but taking out and cutting the end tape off requires care. My impression of you from the videos is that you will favour the Hasselblad and tend to eschew those darn modern conveniences/complexities, (like the shock of auto winding the film on) but that Mamiya is a darn nice camera.
PS I did subscribe to your you tube channel, but nothing changed in my life.😟

Thanks for subscribing @cowanw... I'll try harder! 😄

A few years back I bought a Mamiya 645/1000S with AE finder, winder, 45mm, 80mm f1.9 and 210mm all in a nice aluminum Mamiya case. I didn't need it at the time, but I was offered it by my neighbors' nephew for the sum of $350.00 cash. Just to good to pass on since it was in like new condition. I ran probably ran 12 rolls through that camera before I sold it. I really tried to like it, but it just wasn't meant to be for several reasons. One was that I just wasn't a big fan of the 6.45cm format. Two was that when I compared the results to my Cantax G1 35mm there just wasn't enough difference in output at the sizes I normally printed. Reason three was that I already had cameras like the Pentax 67, Fuji 6X9 II, and a couple of Hasselblad cameras. If I was a 35mm shooter I might have kept the Mamiya as my "BIG" 35mm since it handled just as nice as a good 35mm. I mostly shoot medium format and found that me and my old 500C Hasselblad got along much better than me and the new M645/1000S did. I had absolutely no complaints as to how the camera handled, performed or it's optical quality, but it just didn't fit my style of photography. You might be different Andy and like it to pieces. It's certainly smaller than your RB for sure.
