I have a 6x9 3D printed camera. I wanted a quick and accurate way to determine focus in the range of 3 to 15 feet or so. I am hand holding the camera and wanted to keepeverything simple, easy to carry and use, small and light.
I have a very good Bosch Measuring Lazer with a built in lens and viewing screen for accurate readings. But it is bigger and takes longer to use with my 6x9 camera.
I just picked up this lazer, https://www.amazon.com/Kiprim-Measuring-Rechargeable-Electronic-LD100/dp/B0FCM48QCM, that does what it claims.
The lazer is green and very bright. I’ve used it outdoors in bright sunlight and it is very easy to see in my desired range. Another bonus is it is very easy to take multiple readings and the devise saves them on the screen in the sequence they were made.
I know I could use DOF with my 65mm Super Angulon but I have better results actually setting the helicoil to my actual focus point.
