Hi!
I teach calculus in Central Alabama and I have been learning film photography for the last year or so. I've amassed quite a collection of cameras that I've bought or been given to me by relatives, but I primarily shoot on a Pentax K1000. I'm far from a great photographer, but I'm happy with my continued progress.
I was drawn into film photography as a younger person (20s) because of the blend of art and science (I have a chemistry minor and I did some student research work in a materials science lab) and how hands-on it is.
I was very fortunate to have someone to show me how to make B/W darkroom prints, and I caught the darkroom bug. I'm currently working on setting up a home darkroom and learning how to make RA-4 prints. In the future, I'd like to start shooting some medium format, and in the (probably) distant future, I'd like to try some alternate processes like carbon transfer.
The B/W photos are on T-max 400 and printed on Ilford paper, and the color photos are on Color Plus. I used an older Canon Rebel to scan the negatives and invert/edit with RawTherapee and GIMP.
