Leica shutter sounds

Does the Leica IIIF have the quietest shutter of any Leica camera?

It’s subtle but my IIIf shutter seems louder than my Model C, Model D, and Model F Barnacks. No idea why but the black/nickel cameras just seem quieter. Maybe it’s because they’re prettier…

My IIIb is not particularly quiet. I think it mainly depends on how recently the shutter was oiled and with what.

The shutters in the thread mount Leicas are all very similar. Ball bearings were introduced during the C production. There doesn't seem to be much difference between the those shutters and the M3 shutter. How quiet they are mostly depends on how well-meshed the gears are and how clean everything is inside. But the loudest one I have is a Leica III that was converted from a I.
