Yes. Sodium bicarbonate will decompose in hot oven.

Yes.

I bake 1kg of Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) at 120c (240f) for 2 hours.

I use a lot of Sodium Carbonate for a marine aquarium and that's the cheapest way for me to make it.

Sodium carbonate also known as "Washing soda" is available at many grocery stores in the laundry section and is inexpensive.

Sodium carbonate also known as "Washing soda" is available at many grocery stores in the laundry section and is inexpensive.

Laundry washing soda has unknown impurities.
I guess it's going to depend on what you want to use it for.
Baking Soda is at least food grade.

I use sodium carbonate packaged as Ph adjuster for pools. There's nothing else in it.
