I am getting ready to order some amber glass storage bottles for the darkroom remodel.

How important is it that the phenolic cap has a poly-cone liner as opposed to a regular seal?

Thank you in advance!

The original Polycone lid was a patented high tech marvel. If you want to reuse the bottles buy the best closure. I use Polycone lids or Nalgene lids. Avoid anything that has a paper covered with foil liner.

Amber bottles look cool, clear glass has the advantage of being able to see when they are dirty or contaminated.

I have too many bottles 😆

If you opt for the aper/foil seals, you’ll need a supply of replacements.

Skippy peanut butter still is the best source. You can cut three or four out of the lid if you peel carefully when opening the peanut butter.

If you have a choice the poly cone is pretty good.
