What's your latest new old camera ? (Part 2)

.... and with the E II lens. Very nice. Now to find a 120 back - or will the 220 also take 120 film? Great camera by the way T

    Vivitar Series One Zoom - 70-210mm f/3.5

I have only ever used the Kiron version of this lens. I have found it to be quite exceptional for its time, and able to hold its own with more modern lenses. It is, however heavy, and this might be a consideration for some. Here is an image from it:

what waS your last photography related purchase?

Never envisioned owning one of these - however I saw a sale notice recently and the price was about half the asking price elsewhere. Upon inquiry, the camera has only done 20,000 clicks since new, and is still in good shape. The original owner was a careful professional who only used it for...

Enlarging lens won't close beyond f16

I can't help you with the diaphragm problem not going past f16. For what it is worth, most enlarging lenses seem to perform at their sharpest at one or two stops down from their maximum aperture. In this case f8 or f11 Happy printing T

    Voigtländer 40mm F2 Ultron over Nikon 35mm F2 D?

They are both outstanding lenses. I have shot both but cannot recommend one over the other. If you already have one you may not find any advantage in the other. T

Erwin Puts says goodbye to Leica

Go and shoot film and forget about digital everybody - including the overpriced offerings from boutique and clique-supported wannabe's. So Erwin doesn't follow Leica anymore. Fine - get over it - who really cares. Get back to making images with whatever you are shooting at the moment, and enjoy...

    Yashica 635 question

Yes the camera is a great introduction to 120 film and was my first 120 camera. Mine had the Yashikor lens which was quite good, but the edges were always soft - even stopped down. Having said that, I took some memorable images with it. After some years, I purchased a Mamiya C330 which I still...

How many cameras do you have loaded with film right now?

Just two, Pentax ME Super with TMAX 400 and Mamiya C330 with Rollei Infrared. More than that is just too many to handle. T

    Got Miranda?

Other way round Paul - Other brand lenses on Miranda body. Miranda registration distance was only 41.5mm while others were longer. This permitted the addition of an adapter T

    Got Miranda?

Because Miranda had a shorter registration distance than other makes, it offered adapter rings so that other makes of lens could be used on the body. M42, Nikon F, Canon FD and maybe even Pentax K mount I think T
