Kodak films direct from Eastman Kodak (was: Kodacolor 100. New)

Let’s not forget that in its press release for Kodacolor 100 and 200, Kodak stated the films were already existing in the market. Kodacolor 200 is unmistakably Color Plus, the results are identical. Kodacolor 100 looks dead on for Lomo 100. It does not resemble Pro Image, which is more saturated...

Kodak films direct from Eastman Kodak (was: Kodacolor 100. New)

Kodacolor VR Plus was a definite improvement over Kodacolor VR, not just in name only. Kodacolor VR, while having improvements in grain and sharpness that were developed for the Disc film emulsions, still was lacking the color and the “3D” effect that Fuji unleashed with their HR series...

Kodak films direct from Eastman Kodak (was: Kodacolor 100. New)

It seems odd that the colors were so off on the new Kodacolor 100 with your scanner setting for Gold 100 version 6. It’s generally accepted that Pro Image is a slightly tweaked version Gold version 6, so the results at that setting should have been more or less in the ballpark. Of course, this...

Kodak films direct from Eastman Kodak (was: Kodacolor 100. New)

Blue Moon Camera initially posted on its Facebook page of its announcement of the films that Kodacolor 100 is Pro Image and Kodacolor 200 is Color Plus. That post wasn’t up very long before it disappeared and was replaced by another with no mention of the film’s origins. I don’t know if Blue...

Orwo 200 available in the US as "Kono Color 200"... (I think)

OMG…now even the long-defunct Konica is getting pulled into the murky Jake Seal/Ferrania/Inoviscoat/ORWO/Filmotec saga. Next up: GAF and Forte 😉
  6. Kodak Warning + Later Clarification

Alaris is a giant anvil around Kodak’s neck; they literally cannot run their business how they see fit. Kodak needs to declare bankruptcy and attempt to get the bankruptcy court to either cut Kodak loose from the Alaris obligation or greatly modify it in Kodak’s favor. Much easier said than...

'Sure Be Nice If Ektachrome Wasn't the Only One Available...

There could also be the environmental factor. If some of the chemistry may no longer be available to process Kodachrome as others have suggested, it could be because it is now banned by the various government agencies. We saw how Fuji chose to withdraw Velvia 100 from the U.S. market because it...
  8. A NEW (as of 2022) ISO 200 COLOR NEGATIVE FILM FROM ADOX

I have rolls of the original Color Mission here in the freezer. The emulsion looks like the one in your photo, like a ‘normal’ emulsion. I don’t know the color of ORWO CN200. If it’s greenish like the other ORWO films, then I guess we can rule out the new Color Mission being the same as ORWO.
  9. A NEW (as of 2022) ISO 200 COLOR NEGATIVE FILM FROM ADOX

Thank you for posting your photo. This is a long shot, but does anyone pick up any hints from the emulsion color if this may or may not be what others are packaging as the early version of ORWO NC200?

'Sure Be Nice If Ektachrome Wasn't the Only One Available...

The higher saturation professional version of Ektachrome 100 was VS, which I assume stood for ‘Very Saturated’. The consumer version was called “Extra Color”. I have some rolls of both still in my freezer.

Velvia 100 Processing in the United States?

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I abandoned developing film at home (b&w) several years ago after a severe allergic reaction to one of the chemicals. It was never determined which, I don’t think they actually tried to find out, but I was told by my doctors at the time to give up the...

Velvia 100 Processing in the United States?

Thanks. I’m just going by The Darkroom, for example. They state on their website that they cannot process Velvia 100. I don’t know, only what I’ve read. Seems to me a high production lab would just put it through their workflow, no problem. I just don’t want to go through the hassle of having...

Velvia 100 Processing in the United States?

I know U.S. commercial labs can no longer process Fuji Velvia 100 due to environmental regulations. I don’t do home processing. I have 20 rolls of Velvia 100 that have been frozen since well before its expiration date, but I don’t quite know what to do with it. I’d like to use it, I loved the...

Phoenix II - released 2025-07-16 - speculation and hints during the lead up

Perhaps and, again, I am not attempting to be negative on Harman. I realize Phoenix II has made some substantial improvements over the first incarnation. That being said, the red ‘problem’ is going to be so noticeable, it is going to be difficult to ignore. It will make it very hard to use the...

Phoenix II - released 2025-07-16 - speculation and hints during the lead up

I applaud Harman for their efforts with Phoenix I and II, and this is no way intended to be a negative statement. However, I’m reading and seeing the examples of the difficulty others are having achieving anything close to a true red with Phoenix II. I cannot understand how Harman could release...
