I get the Idea and your point about the TEA. The TEA does the adjusting Part to compensate for the acidity of the ascorbic acid used.
Also the TEA might act as a weak cleating agent.
It would be interesting to compare “original FX-55” to the Gainer mod version and maybe to your mod
Thank you for your great comparison and insight into Mytol vs FX-55.
Gainer made a liquid part B, described also on https://www.pictorialplanet.com/advanced_photography/fx-55.html
Copied from John Finch's page:
Propylene Glycol 50C

Ascorbic acid

The most commonly used "spray" (in Germany I think) to preserve photographic chemicals was Tetenals “Protectan”.
It can simply be summarised by calling it “expensive dust off” or Propane + Butane.
IMHO it should be safe as long as there’s no fire hazard around and displaces oxygen whilst being...
As a matter of fact, I do not trust Synthetika with their “Phenidone” anymore. The suppliers from Poland seem all to get their “Phenidone” out of one source – It’s either not Phenidone or It’s oxidised and hydrolysed. I do not have GC-MS or NMR on hand to verify what it actually is.
For...
My question is: Even if the balance is not as accurate (0.23 vs 0.25 vs 0.27 gr) of Phenidone – Does this really make a difference?
It is 13.8 vs 15.0 vs 16.2mg of Phenidone in the final solution (300ml).
I am interested in an answer before “adopting” a lab grade scale with 0.3mg accuracy...
e.g. if you do PC-TEA 100ml with directly adding 0.25gr of Phenidone to the TEA (without adding the Phenidone via a 4% solution in PG)- than 0.12g matters a lot.

We had bad luck with 2 sellers from Poland as pointed out in the thread.
All came out of the same imported source and was distributed by the sellers.
I'd advise you to look for a different trusted seller (like Phototechnik Suvatlar)

I had bad experiences with Phenidone from Poland.
I have the same one and a "Filmfix" from Hama which was a hand me down.
The "Kaiser" seems similar to the Ilford-type of retrievers. It works nicely if I follow the instructions.
That cannot be said about the "Hama Filmfix". If I follow the given instructions, it takes like forever. If i wind...
I also got a Yashica D with the Yashikor lens.
It came in the mail with a mirror that was just thrown into the camera (and a corner broke off) and missing screws.
I replaced the screws, cleaned and fitted the mirror – fortunately the broken part is at the very edge of the screen.
I shot a roll...
I had the same experience turning my one shot green. I did a water stop in between and "stop-washed" till I couldn't see any discolouration coming out of the tank – I wanted my fixer to stay clear.
Next time I might presoak the film.
OTOH: The colour looked like woodruff soda, reminding me of...
