Back in the day I used to use a Quantascan scanning densitometer. Anybody else use them or seen one lately ?

Did anyone on this site buy the E.G. & G. sensitometer that was recently on eBay ?

I never liked these. Uneven development at the edges. Harder to load.

The most important thing about my reel is the ability to process multiple rolls in either a tank or rotary processor which is what it was designed for. Mostly used a King Concepts Enterprise and and the Image-maker 5000.

Just checking in to see how your sensitometer has progressed. Were you able to come up with a calibration ? Repeatability ?

I was there at the end of Henry's career and he was very bitter. He just got tired of seeing his students end up in low paying jobs. He always wanted students to study business. By that time Reg Herron who was a dear friend of mine was taking over Henry's duties.

I studied with Henry Holmes Smith 50 years ago at Indiana University in Bloomington. He was widely considered the father of fine art photographic education in this country. Even then he felt that an MFA in fine art photography was essentially committing academic suicide.

Probably Minox. I was heavily involved in Minox stuff 40 years ago but I used to have a large collection of Tessinas and Gamis also. Minicords are really nice too. I think the most beautiful subminiature is the Compass camera.
