This is a really sick sound like some major piece of plastic broke off. I tried the shutter a few times with the lens cap on and that sounds ok. So, I'll shoot the roll and let the plastic pieces fall where they may :D
Thanks.
Beautiful work, Jim, as always! Very painterly.
Because of you guys I bought a couple of Holgas. I loaded some film over the weekend and was ready to start trying my luck. Then I heard something rattling loose inside the camera. I thought to myself huh, this is gonna be even harder than I...
I remember those days when I lived elsewhere. I thought they were long gone so I didn't even check. That's a good idea and I will look into it, thank you. :)
Thanks to everybody else for the ideas.
Yes, I thought of that but since these are in unknown condition there's always the chance some number of exposures won't work or that the film will jam etc.
I feel certain this is a dumb question but for the first time in my life I have more than one film camera at the same time. Record-keeping is suddenly unmanageable.
All of these are TLRs I bought used (second hand, third hand etc.) just recently. They're all in their (very) senior years, some...
Thank you, I know those two shops, they have no lenses for the Mamiya for the last months.
A local shop had a paramender for sale for about 240 euros last year, I didn't want to pay that much for it so I continue to be paramenderless...
I recently bought a C33 but was unable to find a source of longer focal length lenses. If anybody knows a reliable source in EUrop, would appreciate hearing about that. Thank you.
BTW, we have a licensed Hoya shop here so I bought a bunch of filters for B&W. The green variants cost me about 24...
Thank you! It's an Olympus 35 SP. All the links I saw said it uses PX625, but after seeing your post it appears to use the 1.3V version, which is not what I bought.
I have no idea how well they work or how long they last, but since I have a rangefinder on the way that takes PX625 I looked on my local go-to battery shop's webpage and found these for around 1,60 euros a piece.
(I have never received expired batteries from them, they sometimes have old...
Not necessarily for medium format specifically, but I like the gear heads from Benro https://benrousa.com/gd3wh-3-way-geared-head/ and Leofoto https://leofotousa.com/products/leofoto-gw-01-geared-ball-head-with-plate-arca-swiss-compatible
I have L-brackets for my FF gear so they just slide...
Thank you! I was thinking to do exactly that. I haven't shot film for decades but in looking into it again I understand more light is better than less, when film is concerned. I had in mind to add a couple of stops if I shoot anything interesting before I can get a spot meter.
