Harry at Second Shot just serviced my OM-2 and just wanted to recommend him: www.secondshotrepairs.com
Old foam around the prism was everywhere, mucking up my focussing screen. He's cleaned it all up, found a replacement screen, and gave me new batteries.
Really pleased with the result :)
I've a 28mm f2.8 for my OM2 and wanted to try something different, thinking I wouldn't notice much of a difference just going to 24mm wide.
But if I'm not going to get the use out of a 20mm, I'll look a little less wide, maybe,
I'll be using it for landscapes and some interiors, nothing that is moving too quickly :)
Keith : I'd love to be able to try the lens out - but it's in Grays at the moment... , and I tend to hold onto all my purchases, even those I'm regretted

Another wide angle lens question... would I find it difficult using a manual focus 20mm lens on a nikon F100, as opposed to one with AF?
My reasoning goes like this:
with such a wide angle lens, most of the world is in focus, most of the time, so critical focus is probably not a big issue...
I've held off from mixing my first pack of PMK pyro 'cos I've not got a fixer with 'suitable' pH, so would be very interested in finding out if the stain won't disappear upon contact with my Ilford Rapid...

I've just used Michael Spencer at www.camerarepairs-r-us.co.uk for an OM2n service - good work, very good communication and pretty fast turnaround

OM2n, bought 2nd hand in Manchester in 1986.
I've been waiting to tell you all about it whilst it was being repaired... dug it out earlier this year and found it wouldn't meter :(
But, just got it back from a service and it's just how I remember it - woohoo!
I've just read a little more and realised that the coolscan IV can't support an SA-30 - it doesn't have a film gate at the back of the unit and has got nowhere for a long roll of film to go!
I guess I'll leave my SA-21 alone and feed it negs 6 at a time.
Thanks for that link...
I've just started using a Coolscan IV with lots of negs - has anyone tried the the same mod on an older scanner? I've not looked inside it yet...
