That's a great tip, thank you. I have been curious about the 40mm f/1.4 Nokton specifically but hadn't considered it at all since I only have 35 and 50mm frame lines. Based on your comment, I'm guessing you're a happy user and would recommend it?
I know I'm quite late to the party but I don't think I saw anyone mention the Bessa R2. I went for that because I wanted a M-mount fully-manual range finder from this century (cost vs reliability trade-off) that wouldn't cause immediate bankruptcy with the minimal amount of electronics (it has a...
The ANR glass sandwich seems like the "only" way to keep it completely flat throughout the entire film surface. I wonder if scanning with a higher resolution sensor (or pixel shift cameras) and then binning it down might be able to produce better quality.
Champaign is a cool college town! Yes, film does pull you in, being tactile through the whole process is awesome. I told myself I won't get into darkroom printing before I got started... but we'll see!
Thanks for the details @loccdor really appreciate the breakdown! I just got an used set of Lomography Digitaliza holders, I haven't had a chance to use them yet but I'm hopeful.
Thank for the reference @Robert Ley
hahahahaa that's a great point @Sirius Glass! Wild life only comes closer when I have a longer lens that the framing I'd like. And somehow fish know when to turn their backs just before I click the shutter even though I've been pointing the camera at them for 30s already.
@Daniela I love visiting Chicago, I'm a few hours south. I was just there this past weekend and it was eerily empty and foggy, looking forward to developing a couple rolls of Kodak Vision3 500T that I shot.
Thanks, the underpass photo was fun to shoot, I wish I had exposed it a bit more but I...
@loccdor if you don't mind sharing, what solution did you end up settling on? I'm keeping my eyes open for a future setup and would like to know the perspective of someone just starting out. It's helpful to hear from people who have perfected it but we often forget the growing pains
I agree with the aperture ring ergonomics of the Olympus 35RC, I can't change it without taking it off my eye and then putting my hand over the lens and pinching my fingers in. If it had a little tab that would be great. I love that it is a truly pocketable (for my pockets at least) fully manual...
I'm a photographer who enjoys landscape and underwater wildlife while traveling and diving. I've been shooting film lately, 35mm and 120, and developing & scanning Black & White film at home (color soon). Film has reinvigorated my love for photography and I've found a great community online...
