@koraks š film wasnāt expired yet, due in a couple of months though, stored in the fridge in the meantime. I indeed passed them through Schiphol, heh. But I didnāt see this result in my Delta 100 development though so I assume that wasnāt the case. Unless that ISO difference mattered.

Hi Doremus & xkaes,
First of all, I corrected the camera, I meant to write Praktica MTL 50, not sure why Minolta came to my mind š
Attached is one of the negatives for reference.
Images are not cropped. I also scanned them with an Epson 600, at 1200dpi. In terms of metering, I mostly go by...
Hey fellow forum members š Hope everyoneās doing well! Newbie here; I recently shot with a Delta 400, which I pushed to 800. I developed 1+9 with Ilfosol 3 for 14 min, agitated per every minute. (Which probably may have been too much as the negatives themselves seem very dark (Iād say...
Hi all,
First of all, thank you again for all your support and help. While Iām super excited about the analogue & darkroom journey ahead, Iām in awe for finding such a supportive and collaborative community here š
I applied some changes into my processing:
- Realised that I had thin negatives...
Hey @Don Heisz, I do have this issue with short exposure times actually. i.e, a low key photograph exposed for 3 sec at f8, is becoming āburnedā when left for more than 15 sec in the developer.
I see
I see. Thanks for the heads up here. Iāll run some tests in the coming week once Iāve got myself some paper while continuing digging through some threads/guides in this forum to help enhance my skills & do some trial and errors.
Thank you all for the support and knowledge sharing here...
Iām using the tri-color Paterson trays. I havenāt used any other containers to test this out but I can definitely add this to the āhope this worksā list Iām building to solve this haha. The trays are exclusively for my darkroom so no other usage. I have changed trays one time but I made sure...
@MattKing I meant tongs indeed, haha! Thanks for the support and warm welcome!
@brendan, I see your point. I tripled check my dilution ratio with what Ilford says, maybe I can break that down even further. I might try as well.
@momus, I am, though the ādistortionsā start to appear within 3-4...
Hey Brendan,
I didnāt think of pulling them out of the stop bath earlier to be honest as I was aiming for a minimum of 10 sec. Iāll give it a shot as well next time, thanks for sharing your experience!
@pentaxuser thanks for your input. i thought that exposing a bit a blank paper might give a better impression than a photo; attached see the top half part of the test print I did.
I tried developing the paper and then running it directly through water, they seem to come out alright...
Hi all š
I very recently started exploring the world of darkrooms and I experimented with a couple of prints. While some came out great, in others I have significant visual distortions appearing when stopping development.
For your convenience, I āburnedā a white paper to show you the...
I was too optimistic that I got everything I needed for my printingā¦haha!
Roger that thanks so much for your input here, that makes sense! Iāll look into buying or making a DIY temp solution for now š š
Apologies for the small pictures, maybe in the downsizing process to upload them I might have gone too far š .
I tried both sided flipping it including the film and this is what I still get:
Hey Koraks, thanks so much for your willingness to help!
Please see attached. Just to clarify: Iām sliding film strips in-between the film carrier, with the shiny side of the film facing up š
