For those who might be interested, I just tried cleaning the element, but unfortunately it seems the glass is permanently etched. Nothing could make it transparent again.
Hi everyone,
I recently acquired a Canon 50mm f/1.2 LTM, but unfortunately, it suffers from the usual very heavy internal haze.
Looking through the glass, it's not just a light, uniform milky fog. As you can see in the photos below, it has a dense, textured, almost "bubbly" appearance. It...
I’m reviving this thread because I finally managed to solve the problem.
It turned out that the black light-sealing sleeve above the mirror box wasn’t properly tucked under the exposure meter cell. Because of that, some light was leaking inside.
After repositioning the sleeve correctly and...
Hi everyone,
I’m having a problem with the vertical alignment of the rangefinder on my Canon VI L (same adjustment technique as a lot of other Canon rangefinders, including the P). I tried rotating the outer lens that usually adjusts the vertical alignment, but the secondary image always stays...
I finally decided to buy it and received the lens today! I inspected the defect personally and took some pictures (attached here). Are you still positive it's just a coating defect that won't affect image quality?
Yes, he is is my economic region (EU).
I agree. I'm just concerned about the resale value. I'm worried I won't be able to get what I paid if I want to sell it back someday.
Thanks for your perspective. To be honest, I'm not clearly seeing the specific defects the seller is describing in the photos. What he is calling coating damage might just be general haze – I can't distinguish it from possible out-of-focus effects or reflections. Regarding the shadow on the rear...
Update: the seller now reports that: "the only visible defect is a shadow on the rear lens. The coating has definitely deteriorated after more than 60 years, I think that's normal." He also sent this image.
Is the price still as good in your opinion?
Awesome pictures, thanks for sharing! My only concern is that it may exhibit some haze not visible in the pictures the seller provided, since this is a private sale without any warranty. Would it still be worth it at that price if it does?
Hey everyone,
I'm looking to add a 35mm lens to my rangefinder kit, and I've come across a Canon LTM 35mm f/2. The seller is asking $260 plus shipping. I've attached photos of the lens below, so you can see its condition.
From what I can tell, it looks pretty good, but I'd really appreciate...
I have the same enlarger (a later model Durst M609). Currently, I’m using my 50mm Componon with the proper deep recessed Seimar tube, but due to the lack of a proper M25 to M39 adapter, I’m struggling with alignment issues.
I’m hoping to use the plate that comes with this lens as an adapter in...
That’s great news! I only paid $20 for the lens and cone, so I’m not too concerned about the condition of the lens itself—I don’t plan on using it anyway.
My intention is to use the cone to mount a 50mm Componon on the Seimar tube I use with my Durst 609. If the lens turns out to be in good...
