Procedures To Shooting Portraits on 8x10

I shot 8x10 portraits for a lot of years and had a number published in magazines. I had the Ebony SV810 camera, which had enough bellows draw to use a longer lens like the Fuji 450C. The 450 was my favorite lens although I also used the Fuji 300C a lot. You'll have to jump in and try it. Things...

    7ARTISANS new 35mm f2.8 in M-mount

Hey guys, I just thought I would mention this because I was surprised how much I liked it. I was given the new 35mm f2.8 to review for my youtube channel. Now I don't need a new 35mm lens as I have the Zeiss ZM f2 and the f1.4, however I agreed to try the lens, so I did. I ran a bunch of tests...

    Tripod for chamonix 45

I found the carbon tripods too light since the camera with a dark cloth attached takes on a 'kite like' performance when the wind blows. Check out the Berlebach wood tripods, you can get them stained to match the colour of the camera. -Rob

Standards when printing for an exhibition

I have had a number of one man, and some group shows. I would suggest everything from 35mm be printed the same size and everything from 120 the same size. Exactly, the same so you can get the matts cut all the same and the frames all the same. That way you can reuse the frames for the next...

    Oldies but goodies!

I posted a video earlier this month on the Five Best 35mm Film Cameras Of All Times, 2026 Version. I don't know which will become a cult following but these are the ones I think are best... for my needs.

    Nikon F3 Reliability in 2026

I use my F3 all the time. I've had no issues. It's the black F3/T which were made towards the end of the product life.

Which filter should I get for B&W film?

I find that I don't use the green very often. For me the 040 from B+W is the most useful. It looks orange to me but they call it dark yellow. I also use the 022 yellow a bit and the 090 red the least. You can see examples of the effect on these two youtube videos I did.

Leica M-mount 75mm lenses.... which one do you own and love

I have not tried it. Seems hard to frame with the small viewfinder lines.

I just want a more narrow view than I'm getting with the 50mm.

Leica M-mount 75mm lenses.... which one do you own and love

Thanks guys, useful perspectives. As a reference to how I would use it... I would expect to use it for portraits. This article about me on the Ilford website would give you an idea of the type of work I would use it for... https://www.ilfordphoto.com/rodeo-cowboys/ .

Leica M-mount 75mm lenses.... which one do you own and love

Hey Guys, I could use some 'group knowledge' before I spend all my money on a 75mm lens for my camera. Any feedback you have on these lenses is greatly appreciated, especially if you really like the lens, or really don't like it. Let's assume I'll be shooting towards the wide-open end of the...
