One thing that may have been covered, you MUST consider use a 3200k lamp. Any (ANY) blue wavelength light seriously runs the risk of solarisation. We've done hundreds and hundreds of rolls and learnt the hard way early on - its rated at 3200k re exposure to specifically avoid solarisation...
Slide film is magical. I was a heavy ECN2 shooter until I shot my first Ektachrome - it floored me.
My photography is my Art and for me there is something about seeing my art on the film as a positive image without the gubbins of darkroom printing or scanning it. It's just magical.
From a Cine...
Hey All, just replying here as a way of an update for anyone finding this thread.
We have had a crazy few years with ups and downs both in terms of resourcing, turn around time, equipment reliability, multiple premises moves (4!!!!) and all that when running the lab part time.
Our problems...
This is true re the cost being the thing that switched people right. Once labs caught wind of ecn2 processing being a need, a remarkable amount invested in addition machines like the Jobo ATLs and modern versions.
All to ensure they could adapt and offer ECN2 for the new film. The shortages in...
Hi,
We have a crown sleever we got from Poland for a great price however it was missing the roll holder attachment.
I was about to post on here for some insight but went full DIY.
sharing for other people as I'd been confused before about it.
The sleever has two nibs on each side and I...
Hi,
I'm not a big printer, but I am interested in learning. The caveat is though I shoot mainly ektahchrome...
Does that consign me to a lab printer vs an enlarger? I assume there are no papers at all anymore for printing from slide - just the experimental RA4 Reversal process?
What do you mean by adjustment? There isn't a adjustment right they just say process it in C41 which gives a more contrasty and slight colour shifted image. The major different in processes is just that ecn2 was made for ecp2e printing vs RA4.
I hate Cinestills whole remjet removal marketing...
If you are in the UK we actually re spool ektachrome from the large 1000ft motion pic rolls!
'REAL' E100 36exp sells for £26 here where we can sell it for £16-£18 depending on our site vs Ebay (fees).
Cheaper than Portra :)
Thanks for this - we have an atl1000 and atl1500 and have seem this video and quite a few others but nine showing the chemical separator for chem. recovery 😭
Hoping someone will have one that they can film! 🤞
May not be relevant - but depending on your volumes I'd be seriously considering CN16L chemistry. It's not that much more expensive to then get like 30L.
It's also quite tolerant of cross contamination as that's how the roller transport mechanisms work, no rinse step in between and some tanks...
Hey All,
I'm looking into (for) the Jobo Chemical Separator for the ATL 1500 and can't find it anywhere.
Have seen some posts etc but would love to see a video of it working.
Has anyone got one they could make a video of?
Cheers, Nick
Hi,
I'm looking for the best place to find a Jobo Atl 2000 or some such. Does anyone know any specialist providers etc?
I know catlab specialise but they don't have anything atm!
Cheers Nick
