    Yashica Mat Viewing Lens

I recently disassembled the entire front of a Yashica D, and the taking lens was one thing that simply would not budge. EDIT: It's the set screw, see above. TIL.

    Review of Ilford MGRC V

That's some totally harsh sunny day window light, I had to work a little to keep the sun out of my eyes and my phone's camera. But I can't see anything I'd call ridges, no mater how I light or turn it - and it's exactly the kind of thing that would bug me. I totally see them in yours. Personally...

    Review of Ilford MGRC V

That's my MGRC V glossy I've been printing on, as per my post #179 in this thread; both my boxes, one 8x10, one 5x7, look like this. Both purchased this summer.

    Review of Ilford MGRC V

I think that if we were looking at this print normally, we'd see pretty much a solid black corner. All the brown, white, and blue is deliberate reflection, to allow us to see the surface texture. In the print of my own below, I've likewise held it an an angle to the light for emphasis of surface...

    Full Format Negative Carriers

I have the Beseler 8055 full-frame and can confirm, it works beautifully for giving black rebate borders but no sprocket holes. You can combine with a four blade easel to quickly set up a centered image with a nice clean outer edge to the black:

    Review of Ilford MGRC V

I've been printing with this paper for the last few months, maybe a hundred prints out of two different size boxes. I just took a handful out into direct sunlight and can't see any linear texture in my samples, even in areas of unbroken black or white. I'll look again next time I have some wet...

New Thoughts On The Return Of Kodachrome

Well, I can see how one would find that implication in my words, at least - not my intention to devalue anyone's contribution, and I apologize. That I do need to go make dinner instead is a matter of fact, however, so... perhaps we can both lean back for a bit.

New Thoughts On The Return Of Kodachrome

Where did I shame you, exactly? I've seen that you are tenacious, it's not a value judgment, I'm simply giving up, not claiming a win, I have to go make dinner, you can have this one.

New Thoughts On The Return Of Kodachrome

I didn't so imply, and no reasonably careful read of this thread would support your contention, but - I've seen enough of your post history to know that you've got a lot more time, energy, and inclination to continue this than I do, so I'm done. Not every historically important technology needs...

New Thoughts On The Return Of Kodachrome

Really? I think I clearly implied a lot of interest in the history of the medium and a valuation of the techniques and methods of the past - just not a sharing of the outsized interest in reviving this one particular product - and really I meant that as originally in the context of yet another...

New Thoughts On The Return Of Kodachrome

Maybe? My grandparents have been too long lost and gone, but if I somehow could sit down again and have my grandfather serve us all root beer floats, I'd not give one rat's ass what brand of root beer, any more than I did when I was 8. In my box of slides of my parents, the Kodachrome ones mean...
