Camera scanning with full frame or medium format

GFX100 series can be an overkill and a burden demanding more computing power, unless you’re scanning sheets of Portra 160 or T-MAX and others with crazy high resolving power. I assume you don’t scan sheets with camera, as flattening the films itself can already be a pain to start with. 16 or...

    Bellini E-6 Rotary Times?

Yes, two 40C pre-wet and each for 30s. That is from you finished pouring in, start counting for 30s then out. I've recently been doing only 10s or so and no problem.

Recent, Large Price Drop on Jobo E6 Kits... Kodak E6 Chemistry Possibly Incoming?

There’s a small caveat to me for the Ilford/Jobo kit. It states the roll capacity at only 4/L for normal, standard processing time without replenishing or reuse. The same applies to their C-41 and ECN-2. I’ve used both Kodak and Bellini kits, and both of them stated capable of 8/L one-shot. I’m...

    Bellini E-6 Rotary Times?

I'm using AGO as well and what I recommend is to do 40C pre-wets for 2x30s before 1st dev to ensure the working temp is up there. In E-6 the dev time is pretty much doubled compared to C-41 and ECN-2, which means the temp variation is even more challenging. I had good results in both Velvia 50...

Getting more rolls out of C-41 chemistry / aka. Have you tried the Adox/Tetenal/Rollei/Bellini C-41 kit?

It mainly does two things. One is log conversion and this should also be doable as long as you have linear scans. I know PhotoShop can do, but I forgot the how-to, sorry. The other is to fit to Cineon base. That is it lifts the base from 0 to around 95 out of 1023 without clipping highlight...

Getting more rolls out of C-41 chemistry / aka. Have you tried the Adox/Tetenal/Rollei/Bellini C-41 kit?

I use DaVinci Resolve to do grading, with NamiColor DCTL as the first IDT node. It automatically converts the linear scan into log space, where RGB alignment should be done within. After manually aligning RGB in both Dmin and Dmax (aka black and white levels) using shift, black point for Dmin...

Getting more rolls out of C-41 chemistry / aka. Have you tried the Adox/Tetenal/Rollei/Bellini C-41 kit?

Just a follow up reply of the kit capacity of Ilford/Jobo vs Kodak/PSI. I processed a roll of Portra 800 using the latter, and results are just day and night compared to Ilford. The same process even came out a bit overdeveloped with slightly darker edge markings, but Portra 800 is known to...

Getting more rolls out of C-41 chemistry / aka. Have you tried the Adox/Tetenal/Rollei/Bellini C-41 kit?

I'm still to find out. Currently my plan is to keep everything controlled but using Kodak's kit to do a batch and see. I'll share how it goes once done. As for the no.33 frame. I agree I'm dealing with more than one thing here. I think it was a combination of development and exposure, although...

Getting more rolls out of C-41 chemistry / aka. Have you tried the Adox/Tetenal/Rollei/Bellini C-41 kit?

koraks, Most likely due to grading approach as you said. I've attahced my scan for the two frames. (Raw file -> linear tiff -> Resolve Cineon log invert -> RGB alignment in Dmin & Dmax -> matching film characterstic curve slopes -> output). Also, the negative strip image you worked on was taken...

    New E-6/C-41/ECN-2 Chemistry from Jobo

That’s so true. The colour correction can even have a philosophical thread on its own. Some treat negatives as the analogue version of digital raw, while some other control freaks (jk…) like me always want to replicate what the characteristic curves would resemble in the digital sense...

    New E-6/C-41/ECN-2 Chemistry from Jobo

Steven and all others here: Sorry for the late reply, but upon searching for results regarding kit capacity and quality, @Steven Lee here really says what I think. My workflow involves using a specific narrowband RGB light source to resemble Status M, although it was a camera that I use as the...

Getting more rolls out of C-41 chemistry / aka. Have you tried the Adox/Tetenal/Rollei/Bellini C-41 kit?

Here are the negatives. The upper strip being lab processed, and the other was the Ilford batch. Slight inconsistent base colour on each strip could be the back light issue, not the films. Any advice is appreciated:)

Getting more rolls out of C-41 chemistry / aka. Have you tried the Adox/Tetenal/Rollei/Bellini C-41 kit?

Thanks @jl_nims and @koraks ! Glad that I wasn’t entirely mistaken. I do suspect the CD4 in Ilford/Jobo isn’t as extremely diluted as the SDS states, but given my inconsistent results I had to suspect it’s likely not enough to match their capacity claim without quality issues. I scan and grade...

Hi koraks, I’ve only got the files and I just screenshotted them. I uploaded as attachments. I could be wrong though and I honestly do hope they actually didn’t cut that much, given that Ilford’s kit is cheaper here.

Getting more rolls out of C-41 chemistry / aka. Have you tried the Adox/Tetenal/Rollei/Bellini C-41 kit?

Hi. New member here just to share my experience regarding roll capacity. I came from a Google search and this post really says what I just noticed. I’ve tried both Jobo and Ilford’s C-41 kits which are in fact both manufactured by Chugai in Japan. After having inconsistent results I noticed one...
