Nikon make an adapter for just this purpose (the ES2), and both JJC and Valoi make sets of film holders and tubes for a similar purpose. The JJC adapter will fit the 40mm DX macro lens, and would probably be the cheapest option (I’ve used this with a D90 and D7100).
In the U.K. at least some people advertise on eBay to rent them for three days (but it’s still around £100 for the three days). At 600 dpi the scanning is slightly slower, probably around 10-15 prints per minute (so about 4 seconds per print), but (in my case) getting the prints ready (out of...
I’ve used one to scan a thousand prints or so of varying types - recent en-prints, old black and white, the odd large print. It is very quick, around 2 seconds per photo and gives an 8bit TIFF output (or JPEG if you want). Given the source material and the speed it’s is very good. I have not...
William Sheepskin (a small-time influencer with 14k subscribers on YouTube) made a comment a while ago about prices going up. He said there are three groups of people who buy film, professionals, who shoot a lot of film but pass the costs on, newbies / amateurs, who shoot a roll or two a year...
It has a shiny emulsion, I wonder if TTL flash will work correctly ? Polaroid “Polachrome” had a shiny emulsion and TTL didn’t work (turned off too soon IIRC)
I used to think that, but when you look at the ages of some people buying Hasselblads and Leicas I‘m not so sure. If you’re used to paying £1500 for a phone, then skipping one generation and getting a Hasselblad instead isn’t such a big deal.
That’s been the last two years in the UK
Totally agree, I don’t think people realise how popular consumer films like ColorPlus are compared to Portra (for example)
I was buying ColorPlus for £6.50/roll last year, but only because Analogue Wonderland weren’t taking advantage of the...
Tbh it was never that cheap if you look at prices pre-2003 and factor in inflation. It’s just that digital, being “free”, has led to a race to the bottom in prices
I remember a few years ago buying “Poundland Film” (“AgfaPlus Vista”AKA Fuji) for £1/roll, and then when they were getting rid of it 50p/roll. But the reason it was so cheap was because everyone was getting out of the film business. If that had continued for a few more years then there wouldn’t...
That’s not an issue I have any control over (lab developed). It’s only ColorPlus, not other colour films, so that would suggest it’s a film issue, not a drying issue. As far as holding it flat, the issue isn’t once it’s in the holder, it’s getting it in there in the first place
Much of this is just supposition, as far as I know no-one on this thread has actually used the film
We’ll find out on Friday (or a couple of weeks later when it’s developed)
