Would it be possible to develop regular chromogenic slide film in similar way as Kodachrome was?
Maybe I am wrong, and haven't sufficient knowledge about the structure of real Kodachrome film, so sorry in advance if my idea is stupid from the start ( ;
As I know, Kodachrome was basically...
Sounds quite funny short after Kodak kicked out film respoolers. Can it be there some coincidence?
Or is it just a threat towards their creditors, something like "You better treat us nicely, or we will break down and you get nothing"?
Just my thoughts...
I have also tried to develop Fomapan R as negative some years ago. I used dichromate bleach as first step, then BW developer and fixer. Result was negative, but low density, grainy and of low resolution, too. Seems like the bleach partially destroyed the latent image. It may be that the small...
For years I play with an idea to build some kind of "digital enlarger" or "film printer" using projection of LCD screen image onto the film or photo paper.
For this purpose a small LCD screen with high resolution would be needed, which was main obstacle for me.
But during recent years situation...
I may be wrong. Because I observed that emulsion gets dark even in unexposed areas with thiocyanate added, my assumption was that it builds up silver there and thus fogs the film. But maybe there's something else going on...
The colors pop nicely! Do you observe some color difference between E-6 color developer and C-41 one? C-41 contains different color agent (CD-4) which reportedly gives more saturated colors.
Perhaps he meant potassium thiocyanate (rhodanide), which is added to the FDs to boost up shadows and...
How about ECN-2 film? Kodak does prescribe a stabilizer (Kodak Stabilizer Additive) in final rinse, but adds that in case of biological growth Proxel GXL may be added. This suggests that Kodak stabilizer additive is not formaldehyde-based and its role is only to protect dyes against reaction...
That's right, in this case only cumulative energy hitting the three layers is decisive and the spectral distribution doesn't matter here. Important here is that only enough energy is delivered to all the three layers to get them fully exposed.
@Sonynolta User I am glad you liked it here. Next time you visit us, try some non-tourism regions and towns. You will relax more and your pocket will get less ransacked, too ( ; Prague and Český Krumlov are fine, but massive tourism there spoils the experience.
Yeah, I just happen to shoot...
@smclennan Nice to hear you visited Czechia for film shooting. I have also done some experiments with Fomapan R motion film, but they are suspended for now. But I plan to come back to motion film since time allows.
To the problem with the color cast - the images were not monochrome, just the...
Mask dye is part of colour couplers in film emulsion (not of film base), in form of atomal group in its molecule, placed in its active part. During development, this group is being replaced by the atomal group from developing agent. So the coupler loses its pre-development colour and gets its...
Not sure. I can ask somebody who knows Foma people, because I am interested in this topic too. I think Foma have all their documentation properly archived, so it depends how willing is somebody there to look it up there. But Soviets were our big role model, so Soviet influece could be easily...
I see. Maybe they use different carrier chain to normal Europe. It means I can't GAS the film. Otherwise the price would be good compared to Orwo NC 400.
