Negatives screwed up in a way I've never seen

You think this grid pattern of the smaller dots is made by bubbles from foaming?

Negatives screwed up in a way I've never seen

Personally I don't consider this serendipity, hehe :). I'll contact Foma, or maybe Fotoimpex where I ordered and hopefully get either a replacement or refund. I've had good results with the first few rolls, but stuff like this makes me a bit wary of shooting more of it. Going out shooting...

Negatives screwed up in a way I've never seen

Same thing happened again... Loaded 12 frames onto a different canister than last time, and shot it in a different camera. Development was 100% identical, only the tank and reel were thoroughly washed beforehand. Attached is 3 pictures, one where it is barely noticeable, one with weak spots, and...

Keep in mind the negs are sleeved laying on a computer screen for lighting.

Negatives screwed up in a way I've never seen

I'm away for the weekend, but I've got a picture of the negatives (sleeved) from just after drying. As I'm not home until tomorrow evening, I've not yet gotten around to do a rewash. The picture of the negatives show the first images of the roll on the top, and the last image at the bottom left...

Negatives screwed up in a way I've never seen

It was indeed the latest loaded film from the bulk roll. I haven't rewashed, but I can try. They were dried the same way I always dry my film, and again It's impossible to see anything _on_ either side of the film, at any angle, and scraping with my nails had no effect. Drying marks IME are...

Negatives screwed up in a way I've never seen

A contaminated tank seems the most likely, so a meticulous cleaning is underway :). Thanks for the advice, but even though using a stop bath is considered good practice, I'm certain that using water instead didn't cause the problem I had this time.

Negatives screwed up in a way I've never seen

It was a second hand tank, and I probably didn't clean it thoroughly enough prior to loading the film. I presoaked as I usually do with 20 degree water for about 5 min. Recently I've been using water as stop bath and did so this time as well. Must have been some stuff or chemical residue left in...

Negatives screwed up in a way I've never seen

Hi, I recently acquired a Kindermann stainless steel developing tank, for one 135 reel, with a 10 oz (~295 ml) volume. I tried it out today, developing a roll of Fomapan 100 that I've spooled myself from a 30.5 meter bulk-roll. I always develop Fomapan 100 in Rodinal 1:50 and never had...

    Better results with Rodinal

The quoted message is not actually mine, just something I found while trying to google his article. I guess his knowledge about the process is only shared through Patreon these days. There must be other sources of information on this process though - I see it referenced regularly elsewhere, but...

    Better results with Rodinal

I'm currently researching the coldinal process, and came upon this comment on Renato's original article (that has been removed). Thought it may be of interest: " Hey Renato, thanks for the great article! I get a good feeling on how to process a film with this method. To sum it up, you: use...
