Slightly back on topic...I wonder if CineStill's "new" 800T will be the new 5219 with the anti-halation undercoat, or if Kodak will continue to make batches of the "original" 800T (ii.e. rem-jetless version of the original 5219).
FPP Sun Color (Kodak 2242) shot at EI 1 (meta data says 6 as that is as low as the camera goes). Overall, an interesting film to play with, but not something I'd use "everyday," especially since you need a really fast lens, even in bright sun.
For what it's worth, I just got a couple rolls of 35mm Provia, from B&H Photo, with a November, 2027 expiry date. So the expiration dates are inching forward.
I totally agree with you. If Kodak were to introduce a Portra 1600 with less grain, than the current Portra 800, they'd be "on to something." I know I'd use it. Unfortunately, I doubt it's high on the R&D priority list.
A Harman Phoenix II (@ EI 125) studio portrait, with the same background as the portrait I did with the original Phoenix. I think that it is an improvement, especially in regard to contrast and grain. Like the original Phoenix, I shoot Phoenix II at an EI of 125, rather than at box speed.
