Thanks @jonmon6691 and @mfohl. Glad you liked the card. The breed of cow in the photo is the Highland cow. Definitely a female cow and not a bull. Highland cattle are an incredibly docile breed despite the massive horns and are a national symbol of Scotland.
Thanks Don. I too really like the paper. I was trying to think of a darkroom paper like it. I used to do a lot of lith printing when I had a darkroom and the old and wonderful Kentmere Kentona had a sort of semi gloss finish that was a bit like the Fotospeed Art Classic -- but not quite the...
Two cards arrived recently here in the UK. Thanks to both @mfohl and @Michael Howard for their cards. Different, but both really nicely composed. I like them both. Michael - your card made it in perfect condition!
Received @Don Heisz 's card yesterday. Thank you very much for the lovely card. My wife is a keen gardener and would love one or more of those greenhouses!
Thanks to @koraks and @negativefunk for the kind comments on my card -- I'm glad you liked it.
Just received @BHuij 's card here in the UK. The card survived the trip exceptionally well -- a really nicely composed and printed shot of some reflections in water.
Thank you!
It’s a shame that Ilford don’t offer the Portfolio paper in A4 size as that would give 4 A6 size cards with zero waste. I see that they do the standard Multigrade RC in A4 but not the thicker Portfolio.
I’m really pleased that you like the postcard. It’s one of my favourites. The film was Fuji Neopan 400 and not Acros. I’ve still got some left in my freezer and it’s my favourite 400 ISO film. I use Rodinal mainly because it’s easy to use and I don’t shoot much film these days. Rodinal lasts...
Just come back from holiday to find mooseontheloose’s excellent scarecrow image. Reminded me a lot of the scarecrow village festivals that we often have in the local area, where everyone in the village builds their own scarecrow and displays it outside their house.
I've also received @jtk John's card yesterday. A very good eye to spot the potential in the subject and very nicely processed and printed.
Thanks also to @jvo for his card Stella, surreal. I can now see what everyone was talking about last week!
Thanks John and James
I went to a presentation by the English photographer John Blakemore a few years ago and he had lightly mounted his photos to mount board which he then passed around the group - we were a group of about 10 - 15 people. This way no-one touched the prints, just the mount board. He didn't use an...
