Need help / advice on a Xrite 820 Densitometer

Thanks for the replies. I tried just calibrating it of a print with black and white with relative densities.... Seemed like it should of worked but still reads very high like before. The light was flickering a little while in the mode which seemed odd. I think something is off and might send it...

Need help / advice on a Xrite 820 Densitometer

I purchased a used Xrite 820 and am having some trouble. I have a Stouffer TP 4x5 - 21 transmission step tablet. When I take readings of the first step with the black channel (Trans A with the color channels off) it is giving me a reading of 2.55? Shouldn't it be around .05 (the known density)...

Polaroid ee100 shooting in square format only?

Thank you for the responses and ideas. I will try the paper in my darkroom with a flashlight. It really makes no sense. As I took the film out last night and nothing wa covering any part of the film. It should all be getting exposed. The film is pretty new so I do not think that was the case. So...

Polaroid ee100 shooting in square format only?

Hoping someone here can help answer my question. I just picked up a Polaroid EE100 Special and have some Fuji 100c pack film. Everything seems to be working fine except I only get a square format frame with an unexposed rectangle on the film? Is this normal for this film / camera combo or should...

Slavich Unibrom grade differences for lith printing

They replaced the paper for me. The new pack does not have the same edge problem. They were very quick about it. I have been itching to get back in the dark to print some more. hopefully soon:(

Slavich Unibrom grade differences for lith printing

Thanks for the info and tips. It is definitely fogged and contacted slavish galaxy and they are replacing it. I was going to just use it but figure that as I am 99.9% sure I have not exposed the paper that they be made aware of this. I am interested to see if I get a pack from the same lot...

Slavich Unibrom grade differences for lith printing

I am using a saunders 11x14 fixed easel and have never had this problem before? It lays the paper pretty flat. I sometimes have taped it shut in the past. maybe I will try this. I am also using an 11x14 tray for 11x14 paper though it seems roomy. I am not using tongs and use a new pair of...

Slavich Unibrom grade differences for lith printing

I received the paper and had a run at some prints. I really like it but had a problem with the corners turning black. In your experience is this normal for this paper? I am wondering if the paper was exposed? I know I did not expose it but have read that this paper is susceptible to edge...

Thanks for the input. I know I read somewhere that gr 4 worked well also. Do you have any experience with the different surfaces - Matte vs. Glossy?

Where to get 120 wooden pinhole?

I just picked up a 6x6 wooden pinhole from zero image. It is very nice and I am really enjoying the simplicity of using it. Set it up point and expose (usually for quite a while). Accidental double exposures have been really cool as well.

Slavich Unibrom grade differences for lith printing

I just purchased a pack of 11x14 Unibrom in grade 4 from B&H. I found some nice examples of with prints on this grade. I am wondering if there is a significant difference between the different grades when it comes to lith printing. There are references here and there that one works well but no...

No More Slavich Paper From Freestyle

I just ordered Slavich Unibrom grade 4 in 11x14 25 sheets double weight matte finish from B&H. It seems they now supply this paper. It said it was shipped direct from the manufacturer. However the shipping said from Wyoming not Russia. Any way I am excited to try this out for Lith. I have...

    Galvin View Camera lens question

Thank you, I had a feeling this was the case, but was not sure. The density in the sky looks rather even and may have only slight viginetting. This was rather puzzling to me, being my first time using a view camera. I am going to keep my eyes open for a 90 mm Super Angulon lens. any Ideas...

    Galvin View Camera lens question

I Have a question for view camera users. Recently, I was given essentially an entire darkroom set up by a family friend who was cleaning out a storage area. Among many other treasures (in a bowling ball case) was a Galvin 6x9 view camera with a 10.5 cm 4.5 Schneider Xenar lens, as well as...
