I think the next step is to pull the top of and have a look. It looks straightforward to remove it. I don't see any screws on the sides of the camera top however I expect they are probably under the knobs on the top.
For sure. I have a couple here and it works fine as a manual camera. I have considered taking this one outside and really learning Sunny 16 in a way that it will come natural. I haven't pushed in that direction to far and it's a skill I should have.
I have a Chinon CX with a meter issue.
The green battery check light works but as soon as I stop down to engage the light meter the needle goes straight to the Over exposed area and does not respond to any change in aperture or shutter speed. I did pull the battery compartment and there...
Well I made a mistake when I was cleaning the blades and I didn't know there was an internal set ring for the front lens group. I don't have infinity focus when I look through the zenit TTL it came with. Can anyone point me in a direction to re set this. I can go through some trial and...
OK I don't see any cracks but there is a wave to some blades that looks as if they have been damaged very slightly. Over all the lens fires just fine it just doesn't always return to wide open which with my style of shooting will not truly be an issue. Its an M42 mount so it will likely be...
I've been learning some lens repair and I've come across a funny problem. I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else.
The lens is a Meyer-Optic görlitz Oreston 1.8/50
The aperture blades were inoperable and I was able to tear the lens down and get all of the thick grease that was...
Thanks, I have found with use it has loosed up quite a bit.
I also find that I can now wake up the light meter by pushing the shutter release from right to left. It doesn't seem to work straight up and down yet bit doing this side push is an acceptable work around.
I haven't yet tried any...
I have an OM10 that appears to be in great shape. Everything is working save for 2 issues.
The ASA dial is stiff. I pull it up and make an adjustment, sometimes it seems smooth and otherwise it is stiff. I know with the manual adapter it is often fixed with some contact cleaner. Can the...
Thanks Dan,
I will pick up one of these gauges. It looks very useful indeed.
Now I will need to look for information on how to attempt to realign the rear element. In my attempt tp get to the rear of the blades I fell into the trap of removing the 3 set screws I now know never to touch...
OK so here it is. I have a feeling there may be a burr in one or more of the channels cut for the lens wrench. It threads in by hand up until the point in the picture then things get tight. Maybe a bit of sanding or filing would help.
Then a bit of touch up!
OK I'll try this. I think I'll also take the bottom half back out of the lens. I'm thinking it's possible with that part threaded in to the lens already may be pushing the internal thread in enough to make it tight.
I'll see how it goes
I'm having trouble getting a retaining ring to seat back down on the lens. It's a old Meyer-Optic Görlitz Domiplan
It will thread in however it won't seat down tight enough to stop the glass from rattling around.
I'm wondering if I can apply some gentle heat to it and try to seat it that way...
I'm new to the Pentax 67. Do you have a right hand grip on yours? Can the strap be used with the strap on the left side camera lugs and slinging it across your left shoulder to the right hip. This would be with an eye level finder.
