    Vintage lenses on digital camera

I don`t use digital camera so much this days, except for scanning negatives, but when I do... in 35mm range, it is hard to go wrong with something like Zeiss 2.4/35 Flektogon (still sharp though but far from clinical). I am also more than happy with Nikon`s 2/85 Ai-s. Both used on Canon M5.

Under-developed or under-exposed (or scan problem)?

I wonder what are the "hidden" factors that can and do influence development times. Many people use recommended numbers from let`s say Ilford technical sheet for that particular film. Why so different results at same temperatures, same developer, and more than similar workflow (take that as a...

Under-developed or under-exposed (or scan problem)?

I use the Kaiser V-system 3005 mask as a "crop" tool on Kaiser scan light panel, when photographing my negatives . I did put few "wider" shots in this thread so people can see rebate and spacing's between negatives. And it is fairly dark, but not "dark room" dark. Will try to see the effect...

Under-developed or under-exposed (or scan problem)?

Yes I did for Fortepan. And Kodak recommended times for Tmax. I will try longer times on Fortepan. And Tmax without any soaking first. I have an intention to start with darkroom again (got Kaiser VP3005 and few lenses wating) so my main intention is to get the negatives as perfect as I am...

Under-developed or under-exposed (or scan problem)?

Thank you for sharing your experience, good things to know. 35mm was 2009 film. I didn`t try to push it, just shot it at iso 100 and developed just as suggested in developing chart. I added just 30 sec. It probably could benefit from additional minute or so, . I got 40 pieces of that Fortepan...

I don`t use scanner, I photograph negatives with the equipment listed in my first message of this topic.

Thanks to all. I understand what you mean Matt. Here are the same samples as yesterday rebate and spacing included, looking forward to hear what you and others think. All of the photos of the negatives, larger format too, has some out of frame/film area too. Although my negatives are far...

Under-developed or under-exposed (or scan problem)?

Ashamed to say, but to be honest, I don`t know what the base/fog density is (at the moment). So no, I don`t, I will educate myself asp. I guess it has to do with the back light coming through the "transport holes" on the edge of the film? Thank you for pointing that out. As I say, it was 20...

Under-developed or under-exposed (or scan problem)?

Yes, correct McFred. That is what I got after playing with levels in Photoshop. But I would like to get my negatives as perfect as possible in the first place. This two films are far away from that and I would be happy to know what am I doing wrong. I will try new Ilford rapid fixer next week...

Under-developed or under-exposed (or scan problem)?

Hi all, I am trying to return to film medium after 20 years. I could use some help. This are two typical examples of the negatives I am getting out of my developing tank. "Portrait" is 6x7 the "Vila Monet" is leica format. Mamiya rb67 3,8/90 Sekor C and Nikon Nikkormat FT3 + 2/85 Nikkor...
