Hey there, I apologize for the delay! Anyway, here is the hack to open the rear locked film door/hatch:
1. Turn the main switch off.
2. While pressing ISO and AE-Lock buttons turn on the camera.
3. Display should now show "Back cover can now be opened"
I've had to use this hack several times...
It could be this, but I’ve also read that the lube they used on these cameras seize up the clutch mechanism to engage the rewind system, so it’s a tough one to figure out. I am certainly bummed out about it and don’t really know what to do. The repair cost might not even be worth it…
This is all terrific advice! Thank you! I may just bite the bullet and either get another Minolta a-7 or the a-9. I’m locked in the Minolta ecosystem because I have so many A-mount lenses. :/
I did hear that the a-9 had a faint LEDs in the viewfinder, so that might also be a non-starter for...
My beloved Minolta a-7/Maxxum 7/Dynax 7 has been working great for a while. The last three times I’ve used it, however, when the film roll was finished, I’d hear a whirring sound that didn’t really sound like my film was being rolled back into its canister… and then the rear screen goes blank...
I just wanted to quickly respond, since you all are giving excellent advice and are asking good questions.
I’d probably nix the Bronica PG 110mm Macro and carry just the PG 50mm, PG 65mm, PG 100mm, and PG 150 along with my GS-1.
I have 2 of the exact same bags that I use for both my Linhof...
Just a quick question to any Bronica GS-1 users out there. I’ve had 2 Bronica GS-1 camera bodies, each with their own GS AE Finder. I sold one of them, however, BOTH consistently underexpose my negs by one full stop.
It’s making me wonder if I should really be using a 6V Silver Oxide battery...
Hello film photography friends,
Before I begin, yes, I’m the guy who started the “Pentax 67II vs. Bronica GS-1 - I can't keep both. Which one should I sell?” thread a few months back.
I decided to keep the Bronica GS-1 after realizing how great it actually is. In addition to the GS-1 camera...
Well, believe it or not, I went with a Fuji GF670, after originally considering the Mamiya 6. The GF670 is a fixed-lens (80mm f/3.5) folder thats shoots both 6x7 and 6x6. I love it to death. It’s a breeze to use and the lens is literally one of the best lenses I’ve ever used.
Also, in 35mm...
First of all, thank you to all of you who responded. I really appreciate it!
I think reddesert's suggestion of attaching the Nikon Nikkor 105mm Printing Lens to a Nikon PB-5 Extension Bellows and then attaching the Nikon Extension Bellows to a Nikon F-Mount to Sony E-Mount adapter is a good...
The magnification that I'm trying to achieve is 1:1. Since the female thread of the two included Nikon K5 (and Nikon K4) extensions tubes are 52mm, the Amopofo 52mm to NEX (E-Mount) Reverse Adapter Ring should fit at the end of those Nikon extension tubes (replacing the Nikon K2 Extension Tube...
Hello fellow photographers!
I've been using a Voigtlander MACRO APO-LANTHAR 110mm f/2.5 lens along with my Sony a7R IV to "scan" my many large format, medium format, and 35mm negatives and transparencies using various film carriers, 99 CRI light, etc., however, I've been rather disappointed...
Well, after 2 years of us all keeping this thread alive, I finally bit the bullet and bought myself a very lovely Pentax LX (later model) that looks like it has been barely used. The clear piece of protective tape on the bottom of said Pentax LX was never removed is still completely intact. I...
Hi all,
I just did a random quick inspection of my Pentax 67II today. I took off the AE finder, took out the BA-61 focusing screen, and much to my surprise, found that the mirror was dirty. (The area that I circled in red in the attached photo of my P67II’s mirror is particularly irksome; it’s...
While I think I'm settled with the Pentax LX, I did want to ask you all which of the following two cameras (if you have any experience with either of these) would you pick:
-Nikon F6
-Canon EOS 1V
I feel like the Nikon F6 has that incredible 3D Matrix metering and has a long list of 3rd party...
No need to apologize at all! I never felt offended by your comment in the slightest. Perhaps I felt a little bit misunderstood, if anything, but that was really my fault. In fact, even though I was genuine with my questions, I obliquely proved your point in my other thread where "I apologize[d]...
