I’ve cleaned many. I have never used anything but water to flush the system. I hate the chemicals used by some folks to clean developer tanks etc. My skin is sensitive to something in them.
There are definitely some possible gotchas in the machines.
Disconnect the machine from the mains power...
Very cool story! I met a number of people over the years who had worked at the North Vancouver lab.
I worked for Kodak Canada as a technician servicing minilab equipment. This was well after the labs in Canada were closed.
I got a tour of the area in the Toronto location where the K-14 line was...
Andreas,
I had a quick look at the specifications of the Oscilloscope you are using. The bandwidth as stated is in the KHz range.
Have you ever run into any limitations with that? I am guessing not. I still have to read a lot of your threads.
I have a decent MSO with a bandwidth of 70MHz. I can...
WOW! I was looking at your recent uploads here right after my post. I walked away for a bit and this message greeted me. I am so grateful for your contributions here. I can't believe the depth of info and attention to detail. I repaired pre-press equipment, photofinishing equipment (mostly) and...
I received a T90 that I bought from an eBay seller in Japan. It was sold as MINT. It didn't look quite mint in the photos, but not too bad. It seemed okay for the price.
The first thing that happened? EEE and HELP inside the viewfinder. I hadn't paid close attention the the EEE discussions here...
I thought what I used in the 80's was called Vericolor Print Film, or VPF. It was a bear to use. Getting a dust free image was a challenge. The clear dot glowed its presence through any dark areas. We used it in 8x10 size in the lab. I forget the Kodak number.
It was great for photofinishing equipment manufacturers. I worked for Kodak when it was introduced, then back to Noritsu. We sold lots of machines. It was an insanely busy time.
I had a camera because I kind of needed one for testing equipment. It was not what was promised. That's for sure.
I would love HIE to come back. I have some still, even a full box of 4x5. I'm not sure if the 4x5 is still okay. I'll be testing it in a month or so. I paid too much for it but was willing to take the chance.
I do agree that it is "niche in a niche" for large format.
I love the halation as...
Thank you for the replies. That confirms what I thought, and hoped. I'm not disappointed with my results. At normal viewing distance, it looks great.
Indeed, it is a fun film.
I didn't expect it to match Polaroid of old.
Thanks again.
Hi there Instant enthusiasts.
I decided to test a couple of lenses using a Lomograflok back on a Sinar 4x5.
I like the look of Instax. My results were pretty good at first glance.
I've never put a loupe on them before to evaluate the sharpness. Oh my, it appears to be "sub optimal". 🙂🙃
I had...
In Canada, XTOL is sold as XTOL, manufactured in Michigan, by Photo Systems Inc.
I saw it online at Camera Traders, which is located in Victoria, BC. Other Canadian retailers have it in stock as well. Downtown Camera in Toronto has a good stock of the Kodak chemicals manufactured by Photo...
A Canon T90. 😀
Not my fault! I was enabled by people here in another thread. This one is in great shape.
Today, I received a Rodenstock Grandagon N 115 mm f6.8 lens. Tomorrow, I'll test it. It looks great, other than a small bit of Rodenstockitis. (Like Schneideritis) It won't likely affect the...
For clarity, when I described using dupe film, the original transparencies were not contact printed. The transparencies were projected onto the film through the lith masks. These were multiple exposed images. Sometimes, we used Internegative film, other times dupe film.
