When was the last time you read a warranty that didn't exclude consequential damages.
I recently read the warranty for a new watch which basically said you bought it, you own it and any problems you have with it. Don't bother us. It says right in there that they will not even be responsible...
Thanks for posting the film backing scans. They are most helpful.
After running a roll of Ilford through a new Ondu and not being able to see the numbers I went out and bouught a roll of everything available to try and figure out whose frame numbers and paper color provided enough contrast...
I had a similar problem with Ilford film in my Ondu
The numbers on the backing are light gray against white and there is not enough contrast for me to see them through the red window
I have three commercial pinhole cameras
the one I use is the Reality So Subtle 4x5
I like it because it is solidly built and takes 4x5 film holders which means I can make twide as manc images as I film holders without going into a changing bag ad don't have to wait until I have finished exposing...
Attached, for what it is worth, is my crank turn count for my Ondu 120 MF
The 6x6 numbers don't look right but I added all turns across and come out with the same number of total turns as I do for 6x9 and 6x19
Methodology
I loaded a roll of film and advanced it until the big arrow pointed...
I like that idea
by mounting rare earth magnets to both the cigar box and the septum the septum would self align when I attached it and be square with the camera so I would get level pictures (assuming I get the camera level)
I have also seen somewhere that someone took apart a leaky film holder...
My box isn't big enough to get a film holder in there even if I remove both dark slides and hount the holder with exposed film in the dark bag. I don't have much more than 5" in either direction and the box is shallow so the thickness of the film holder would eat up more of my 31mm focal length...
This is what I have figured out so far:
I can get basswood from the art supply store in strips 1/32"x1/4"x24" (have to buy five to get the one I need)
I have a sheet of 4"x5" cardboard that came with Fomapan film and is thicker than a sheet of film
I can cut the cardboard to the green shape and...
My concern was with the possibility of scratching the emulsion with all the handling necessary to get all four film corners under their respective photo crners.
I already use nylon gloves to guard against getting skin oils on the film.
The way I figure it the less I handle the film - with or...
For my first cigar humidor camera I used scrapbook photo corners to hold the film on the bottom of the lid. It worked but I found that it took a lot of film handling in the changing bag to get the four corners nailed down. I have another camera in the works and am trying to figure out a better...
Thanks Prof_Pixel. I read that and it appears that my film choice is to blame. I picked up a few rolls of Ilford Pan F Plus when I bought the camera. Since then I have also bought test rolls if Foma, Fuji and Kodak but haven't loaded any of them yet.
I did run a wasted roll of film through...
Thanks Bill. I just went back there and can't find anything other than how to buy a camera so sent them an email and will see what comes of that. In the meantime I will try to figure out knob turns for the various formats.
Thanks ciniframe
I had though about turn counting but knew that I would wind more film with each turn the farther I got into the roll and hadn't gotten around to figuring out if there was a way to do it. I will give this a try and see what I come up with. The film has been ruined already so...
