Out of interest, what was the Pentax body that had a Kodak ASA connector? Apart from that, a PC connector is something different from an ASA connector so I'm confused by them being together in that description - or did you mean some kind of adaptor from one to the other?
Then they would cease to be brick and mortar stores. Why would they continue renting a high street shop if most or all of their sales are on-line?
You misunderstood me. I am not mainly concerned about Mom and Pop making a living (which seems to be where you are coming from - a business seller...
The 522 is an ancient design, the DX12R is much newer by which time trigger voltages were being reduced. I have a DX12R and it measures 7.0 volts with the STD-1D module which has pass-through wiring, and some camera dedicated modules happen to reduce it even from that.
The botzilla website has...
I expect it had already been sent to someone before you, opened, and then returned after they got as far as at least getting the inner bag out. Amazon are very tolerant with their returns policy (which extends to their Marktplace) so there is a good chance that what you get from them has...
I never understood why Canon and Nikon equipment shared almost the same names as each other. I believe Canon started this nonsense when they named the F-1 when Nikon already had an F. Did Canon hope that buyers in a camera shop would assume the F-1 was a Nikon? Like piano makers use brand...
That depends on the camera. Pentax DSLRs use open aperture metering with all lenses from the A-Series (c1984) onwards. They need stop-down metering with the earlier K and M-Series lenses although it is only a matter of jabbing a button momentarily. I understand that Nikon DSLRs go one better...
Some people say that PC ports can stand higher voltages than hotshoes, and it may be true for certain cameras, but it is not reliable advice. I would guess that Pentax 67 could tolerate a higher voltage, being as you say a basically 1960's design with a makeover. Seems to have the same shutter...
They say it is reliable, but while you could set the right exposure while looking through the viewfinder, I was dissatisfied that you didn't then have a clue what the F-stop and shutter speed were. I understand some people counted clicks (no thanks), but I always had to take the camera down from...
The older flashes were designed at a time when there were still many cameras around with metal cold shoes. It was therefore arrangd that the contacts in their feet were isolated when a sync cord was in use, for example by a microswitch in the sync cord socket that detected the presence of a...
True, but I got near mint one for $15 (equivalent). Ebay is a buyer's market at present, and while some sellers still expect to get what they would have 10 years ago, you can easily find better bargains, especially with a bit of patience and watching.
As for the Vivitar 365, there is one on...
Assuming the "Auto Zoom 3600" is meant (Sunpak made more than one flash with 3600 in the name), while it looks a similar design to the larger 544 (which was also called the 4205G) there is an important difference in that the 3600 had a high trigger voltage (200v reported) and the 544 a low one...
