If I understand what I have been reading then I will need 105mm of tubes to make the 105mm lens go 1:1 macro and even more tubes to go larger than life. Is that true? These tube kits are typically 64mm in length so Ibwill need at least two kits? What is the combined length of extension tubes...
Thank you. It looks like my fondness for manual lenses with aperature dials will benefit me. Cheap extension tubes should work fine, but I will need to spend a lot more if I want to open the aperature on my kit lens. The sony will have the same problem. None of those alpha lenses have aperature...
That widelux looks like fun.
I'll keep an eye out for it.
You must have a knack for the canoe. The rapids were the fun parts, we were rolling over in some of the other parts however. It happened twice in one spot and I don't fully underatand why. After we emptied it and got back inside...
I really appreciate all of the welcoming messages.
I bought a Sony a700 from Adorama today. Hopefully it will be a worthy companion to my Nikon d3100.
I have been using my phone for wide angle shots and the Nikon is primarily used for telephoto shots. While everything is possible, I think...
Conveniently, I don't have one.
My girlfriwnd and I went canoeing today; we took her pomeranian along and tolled the canoe four times. He was mildly traumatized.
Mr. Adams wrote that a planetoid computer claimed it is the meaning. Did anyone ever figure out why?
There's an interesting rabbi...
I successfully disassembled and reassembled an old pentax 35mm lens a few days ago. That was confidence building. I remember trying to disassemble my dad's pentax camera many years ago, the broken one. These devices are insanely complex. Is there a brand of cameras that is built with repairs in...
Too freaking fast. I was trying to photograph a swarm of birds that were circling near a bridge just a few days ago. After a good ten minutes I moved on. When I go to look at that memory card I will be surprised if I caught a single bird/rocket.
The chicks undoubtedly came from eggs.
Yeah. I did see that after all and I mistook it for a signature footer. Do you earn a living in photography? That subject is one of the most interesting aspects of this forum. If we can make some real money, then the cost of digital and analog equipment is probably an acceptable business expense.
Hi Alan. I agree, this is a beautiful area.
I remember that there was a camera shop downtown many years ago. Now there are just a few cameras for sale at Walmart, Best Buy, Target, Office Depot, etc..
Is there any place to rent photography equipment that you are aware of?
That documentary sounds interesting. I saw a movie about a photographer in apartheid south africa recently. I remembered thinking that apart from Patrick Lancaster there aren't any people doing that kind of journalism now.
