The RF mirror in the Ikonta III is attached to a small metal tab that it's easy to bump accidentally while removing the top cover.
If the tab has been bent out of whack it may no longer be possible to properly align the RF image at infinity via the adjustment screw in the linkage because the...
Idk about the fancy focusing screens but I've never had an issue with my ~25€ one from China. It has a split-prism which works exactly like you expect a prism to work.
Easy enough to replace the ground glass with a fresnel screen with split-image focusing and/or microprism.

There's a place in Neuwied, a few kilometers up the Rhine from Koblenz, that you should probably check out then: https://alpafoto.rf-webworld.de/
Here's their eBay shop...
Everything is a compromise, no need to write off medium format entirely🙂
But you can't have a light camera *and* a prism.
MF SLRs are always going to be 2 kg or more with the lens on. Rolleiflex/cord and clones are around 1 kg; if you want the maximum brightness you'll need to add another 100€...
I have the Super Ikonta III (Tesar) and it's a pretty good camera imo. Nice and light (~650g iirc), auto frame counter and double-exposure lock. The Tessar (there is a version with a triplet Novar too) is sharp and renders that vintage look. The viewfinder is definitely where you compromise with...
There seem to be lots of Ricohflexes, Rolleicords or Yashicas from North America on eBay.
This Diacord here listed as functional for a really good price, so you'll get a refund if it turns out not to be: https://www.ebay.com/itm/156543059714
Tbh it's probably worth buying even if you pay for...
After dropping my silver Rollei 35 T at the playground (in the sandbox no less. Luckily it did recover...), I treated myself to a black 35 S.
I don't know what it is about these cameras but I've taken some of my best pictures recently with that 35 T; there's just something about it that works...
Funny, I just got this Minox-derivative: The Balda CS 35.
I got this because my wife's Ricoh AF gave up the ghost. It looks practicaly new, no signs of use whatever, came with batteries too and the program exposure seems to works. The aperture seems to be triangular.
Can't believe how tiny and...
There is not that much point in the Tengor other than what the experience of shooting the box camera itself offers. The quality of the images certainly isn't on par with even a cheap triplet.
The results can be interesting in their own way, though.
Here are some red rocks in Colorado, shot...
I assume there are at least a couple of different iterations of the No. 2, and here's a 1924 "Model F" that definitely uses "Rollfilm", i.e. 120: http://www.lippisches-kameramuseum.de/Kodak/Kodak_Brownie_No_2_Model_F.htm For size comparison to the 116 Model C...
Hi everyone, I sometimes shoot the buildings in my area because it's "what I see".
This is one of my favourite shots of one of the turn-of-the-century homes in my neighbourhood. I find them tricky to shoot because streets here are narrow and full of parked cars but every once in a while you get...
