Thanks nmp, that link has some really valuable information, interesting that the temperature effects the coating so much. I am worried that since (if there is even one) the gelatin overcoat is so thin that there is little to nothing to absorb the sensitizer. Ill give that method a try though.

UPDATE: after trying to coat a few sheets, it looks like the gelatin overcoat is not strong enough to withstand a few passes of a Hake brush- and the paper does not absorb liquid evenly at all (it will absorb the coating though!)

I've seen this kind of spotting in kallitype from coating the wrong side of the paper (with Bergger cot 320). Could also be from uneven moisture in the paper- how long was it between coating and printing?

So after scrounging for a bit it seems that there's been a lot of talk about art baryta but no real results to be found on its performance as a paper for kallitype or pt/pd printing.
