THIS is really good advice and might be just what I need to keep my expectations in check. I'd never used ground glass focusing before and was hoping that, with a larger format (the largest format I'd used heretofore was 645), I would get the kind of snap in the viewfinder that I get with my...
The soft release sounds like a great idea! I know a lot of people use them on Fuji X cameras because most of them have shutter buttons threaded for a cable release but I never tried one with my X-Pros.
Do you use the magnifier on your Autocord often? If I fouled up the focus on so many shots I...
Thanks for the tip, Daniel. I just now ordered one of the plastic caps.
Doing some testing on a tripod is the obvious thing I should do before spending money on more stuff. So of course I didn't think of it!
Holding the camera straight has proven surprisingly difficult. Getting used to a WLF...
I have a couple questions:
First of all, I got my Autocord last year from Karl Bryan. I'd like to get a lens cap and, while I understand that it takes Rollei Bay 1 accessories, I'm at a loss for a good aftermarket lens cap. Do any of you have specific recommendations?
Secondly, I've shot two...
There is a bit of Schneideritis in/on one inner element but I doubt it will affect picture quality. I'm happy and have decided to keep it. Dusted it off, and loaded it up with HP5+ and took it out on Thursday. I'm not sure how to delete a Classfieds thread. What is one supposed to do when a...
I placed an order with Karl Bryan for one of four he had for sale. He was unwilling to share pictures of a flashlight shining through the lens but I am going by his reputation. Should be here Tuesday.
Thanks. First read about it from Dante Stella's old site. I've actually held two of them, each eBay purchases that had to be sent back because the sellers lied about the condition. I fell in love with the camera... I just want a nice copy.
As a fellow Canonet QL17 G-III shooter, the advantages of the X-Pro1 are those of any digital camera over a film one. I'm not going to try to persuade anyone. As someone who shoots both film and digital, I have no dog in that fight. It's just what works for me.
Hey everyone! I've got the itch for a Minolta Autocord. I don't care whether it has a meter or not. I'd prefer a shutter that maxes at 1/500th - a Seiko if possible. My preference is for a focus scale in meters, but it isn't a dealbreaker. No fungus, haze or serious scratches on the lenses...
I have a Paterson tank and have developed 135 and 120 myself with a gallon jug of TMAX. I appreciate your enthusiasm but I have zero interest in taking it back up. And even if I did, it's just not practical for my living situation for the time being. I'm quite content to pay to have...
I enjoy using my Fuji GA645 but have yet to print anything from it yet. I like a bit of grain though so I've been mostly using HP5+. Even at ISO 800 in TMAX, scanned with a Noritsu it's surprisingly clean. I shot a roll of Arista Edu 400 on a trip to Walla Walla back in spring that I still need...
This was shot on Cinestill 800T that I rated at ISO 500 and had it developed normally. I may have even added a little exposure compensation but I don’t remember. I think the red in the jacket is still a bit muddy and I don’t know how well this would print. I cropped it and heavily manipulated...
