I think is bad. Maybe I am not all up to date with things.
You have to scroll to find anything. The moving picture thing was cool 5 years ago when I first saw it but now everyone does it in a crappy way.
Just give me some photos and I do upfront, don't blueball me with an hour of scrolling and...
Glad I found a lab that sells vision3 and ektachrome hand rolled really cheap, they can develop them too. Much cheaper than the c-41 films at this point.
Film doesn't have to be better, then people will just shoot digital. Right now the novelty is enough, probably for some time.
Just has to be different and not boring and reserved like portra.
Will try to get a couple.
For now people will be willing to pay anything, especially when popular youtubers post their reviews.
Im sure they will fly off the shelves initually, like Ferrania P30
Nope, they must have disabled this with a firmware setting somewhere.
Maybe it's a 2000 usd upgrade?
Guess I will have to strap a 200 dollar gopro on it for that, as I do with my 50$ Nizo 156 camera to sync sound in post.
Insanity
It is a conscious software limitation put on a 5K camera.
Sound syncing is easy, I have done it with 50 year old super 8 cameras that were not refurbished. Just put the audio at the right start point and stretch the end to the end of the scene. Done. I've been able to sound sync 3m20s...
No audio recording capabilities at 18fps ):
Dumbest software limitation ever. Lots of people shoot 18fps for the look and extra time, I know I do almost exclusively.
There goes one of THE reasons to get the camera.
Probably an other boring B/W or some silly dev/darkroom product.
Yawn.
Just been disappointed too many times by this type of marketing to get excited anymore.
In a lot of indoor situations such at clubs, raves I am always amazed by the detail and colours in 500T exposed as 1000. Colours are much more consistent and natural compared to portra 800.
From what I have read pushing film for a scanning workflow is useless, and it throws off the colour...
CineStills products are all inferior to companies selling Vision film with the remjet layer still on.
Halations are horrible.
I can buy proper vision3 35mm cartridges here with remjet still on for 10 dollars a pop, and have it processed in ECN-2 at that place as well.
I would love to get some provia or velvia but anywhere I have looked in the netherlands and Europe it seems to be either out of stock or selling for 40 euro a roll.
Even ektachrome e100 which I remember being the cheaper option is out of stock everywhere and sells for 30 a roll here.
I think this is just a new tool and medium like any other major shift.
In the beginning people will use it to make art of already known concepts. But eventually some creative people will use it to make something completely new and unique, a new form of art of expression.
Any mechanism that...
