Where is everyone with your camera scanning setup for film?

I lost my darkroom when I moved house in 2022, and it has taken me until now to start exposing film again. By using my motorized Rondinax tanks (35u and 60) I can go without actual darkness, but what to do about scanning? I sold my Hasselblad X1 just before I moved, and have resurrected my Nikon...

    Diafine for microfilm

I use Diafine in a motorised Rondinax with good results. However, it can give grainy results with some films, and if you are using a very small format film that might not be good. I get acceptable results with half-frame 35mm.

Ilford XP2 - have you developed in C41 and b/w chemistry?

Delighted to see you chaps still experimenting! If I ever get back on my feet and back out into the world I'll be joining you again. C.

Ilford XP2 Super in B&W chemicals

Well here's a blast from the past! I got an e-mail notification of life on this thread. I moved house six months ago and very little is unpacked and the house is still a construction zone, hence no photography. One of these days the Big Freezer of Film will be opened and life will resume...

    Mass Dev chart, versus...?

A personal viewpoint that some will disagree with. Extensive and objective, logical testing of a film (even six rolls of it) with a developer for various times and temperatures is going to suck every last ounce of fun out of it for me. It might make sense if the film is being used as a...

    Nikon 85mm 1.4D

And it's very sharp, too. Self-portrait with flash and cable release: Post_BMT_7 by chrism229, on Flickr If you can stand the ugly mug, the full res photo on Flickr is 4000 pixels a side and has been cropped square. Detail is such that it's like a digital photo (and I find that undesirable...

Diafine is in stock at Freestyle

Evidently Diafine is not for everyone, nor for all purposes. Even at this price, it is a bargain. My current US gallon (3.78 liters) is about three years old and working just fine. I don't know how many films it has had through it, but it will be a large number! I will admit that when I first...

    Old Kodak Super-XX developing instructions

Packing up a couple of shelves of developing tanks for the big move, I came across this little tri-fold pamphlet in an old box. Since Double-X has a new life, it might be of interest.

    Who Likes Olympus Half-Frame SLRs?

Or you can go for good old XP2 Super in HC-110 or Diafine, and have grainless mini-negatives. My best FV has arrived in Québec City, and is working its way through the four week backlog. The second best FV is currently my only camera as everything else is packed up to move house. Not much good...

Who actually carries a tape measure to do closeup work ...

Not for those purposes, but for calculating the bellows factor of an LF lens used close up.
