If you work in still life you really need LF for perspective control, Preferably 8x10. If you are working in landscape then it depends on how old you are. If you are young and healthy use LF while you can carry all the stuff including tripod. If you are up there in age and aches and pains are...
I have a few of them, I use them on all my cameras. What I like about using them on my Rolleiflex is that all 4 feet of the Rollei sit on it very securely so I can leave it on a tripod that I carry over my shoulder. I guess that doesn't help.
Obviously using expired film and buying expired film is two different concerns. I use nothing but expired film, but I bought it all in bulk before it expired and it is all stored well below 0º F. 35mm 4x5 120 8x10, I have all formats and trust them. However I would not buy expired film because...
I mix my own as well. Personally I would just check the ph and then decant the solution off the sludge and then test it. Actually it happened to me once when I accidentally put in too much OA. I dried the "sludge"and put it in jar in case I find a use for it.
I have a warped retina in my non dominant eye which makes me unable to focus it and everything I see in that eye is warped. It causes me to have trouble seeing how far down I have to step on stairways or off curbs etc. I find it does not impact my photo vision at all but I do my composing...
I have to wonder if you are referring to C-76 which is D76 with an additive called Crone C. Back in the 70s when I was in photo school we students were required to use C-76, which supposedly doubled your ASA and gave finer grain. After finishing the Glen Fishback school of photography I never...
Ok just a thought.. I make my own Potassium Oxalate developer and a fair percentage of that is Oxalic acid. Also I have been able to make certain papers viable for platinum printing by presoaking or pre-wetting with a dilute solution of Oxalic Acid and water.
As for freezing, Polaroid said not to but I didn't know that so I froze many boxes of types55 ,665, 59, 669 and more for many years and recently decided to see if any was still good so I opened some of each. I found the 665 and 55 still good but not so sure about the color.
I am lucky enough to have my trays in a sink so I just lift one corner. However if you look at tools for the home brew industry they have something called an auto siphon that I use to siphon beer into bottles. They are cheap and all you have to do is give the wet end a couple of pumps and away...
I am old enough to predate Tmax films. At that time I worked in a commercial studio and a Kodak rep came by and said that we should increase the presoak to 2 minutes. I have done that ever since using trays for sheet film and dip and dunk for roll film. In both cases I agitate almost non...
I've lost a few, worn out several and I am down to two so I am going to buy some more. What I like about my old Rollei is it has a self timer, which I've had to resort to several times.
