Can A Cracked Filter (Polarizer) Still Be of Use Without Image Degradation?

I guess as the saying goes: you don't see what the camera sees...

Can A Cracked Filter (Polarizer) Still Be of Use Without Image Degradation?

I clumsily stepped on my polarizer causing a sizable crack nearly the entire diameter with it "branching out" slightly with "little veins". Looking through the lens with it on, you couldn't tell - the crack(s) don't show, as if it's not at all damaged. Shooting costly Ektachrome, I'm not about...

    What happened to 135mm?

'Been using my Minolta 135 MD lens for 17 years and have gotten great results. It's my next up lens from 'standard'. There's something about 135 that's just so right - whatever it is you're seeing up ahead but not too far, yet close enough to get maximum depth of field in the whole photo. Of...

Have You Been shooting With Ektachrome - Because You Can't Get Ahold Of Any Velvia?

Have you ever tried a "warm-tone" polarizer filter to allay your issue? I myself would like to see a "warm" version of the current Ektachrome the same way back in the 90's there was Ektachrome 'G', alongside Ektachrome 'GX' which was the warmer of the two.

New Motion Picture film: Eastman Kodak VERITA 200D Color Negative Film 5206/7206

Maybe some worthwhile movies to be shot on this new film. Where did the 90's go.....?

How Would You Compare Minolta SRT-101 To The Minolta SR-2/1?

'Have enjoyed my SRT-101 for several years now, but recently learned of another old Minolta that has a ROUND viewfinder!! Wow I think - 'gotta have this one! Has anyone had experience with both cameras, and if so, how'd you size up the two back-to back?

Slide Storage Concerns - For How Long & Archival Plastic Pages vs. Metal (Tin?) Storage Boxes

    Now I know what I need - a good Ionizer/air purifier!!

Slide Storage Concerns - For How Long & Archival Plastic Pages vs. Metal (Tin?) Storage Boxes

How often do you take them out to give a GOOD look at them? Are they completely dust/particle free?

Slide Storage Concerns - For How Long & Archival Plastic Pages vs. Metal (Tin?) Storage Boxes

I I live on a busy heavily trafficked street in a big northern city and dust balls and particles are constantly forming on the floors. I keep the windows open. Many of my slides are still in the small boxes they came back in housing 36 - 39. Some, not all, have dust on the inside so I give my...

Slide Storage Concerns - For How Long & Archival Plastic Pages vs. Metal (Tin?) Storage Boxes

Either - neither of you two don't live in a warm humid climate?

Slide Storage Concerns - For How Long & Archival Plastic Pages vs. Metal (Tin?) Storage Boxes

Very encouraging to hear, except for this "archival grade" sleeving: the sleeving I already have is "lower grade" - I'll have to upgrade (more$$)? I thought EVERYTHING from PrintFile was archival quality. 'Guess I'll have to go to their website. Also, there isn't any particles/dust crept into...
  12. What a world we're living in...

Put away that damned cell phone - look around you and NOTICE, take in what you see. You just might, for atleast alittle while, APPRECIATE what beholds before you, around you, not to mention developing something called an 'attention span'. Now, about this career thing - sorry, ain't 'gonna...

Yes - Ektar is a good what-you-see-is-what-you-get film.

Slide Storage Concerns - For How Long & Archival Plastic Pages vs. Metal (Tin?) Storage Boxes

How "healthy" is it for a color slide to remain inside a PrinFile plastic page inside a PP5 storage box? How many years? I've noticed recently that minute amounts of dust or particles seem to be able to make their way into the "pouch" where the slide is. Some are in these three-pronged binders...

Have You Been shooting With Ektachrome - Because You Can't Get Ahold Of Any Velvia?

I ABSOLUTELY loved RSX - though in 50. Nice pastel-like green foliage and deep blue skies. Astia another winner for me - some folks referred to it as Fuji's Kodachrome for it's accurate earth-tone renditions.
