The Kodak H35 half frame camera

Colorado must be different than around here. (South Puget sound) Hardly any of the second hand stores or Value Village or Goodwill stores have much, if any old plastic cameras. And, if they do they want much more than $.99 Not sure why but they have prices of 7.99-14.99 on that sort of junk...

The Kodak H35 half frame camera

I believe the H35 lens will cover full frame As it appears to be the same 2 element lens that originally was on the Vivitar Wide and Slim (now available again from the same supplier offering the H35). It was probably the same lens on the Golden Half also. I’ll stick with my Olympus Pen...

Project: Making a 'Covert' Pinhole Camera from an Old Pocket Watch

Late to this thread. Although I don’t see them anymore, for several years discarded Disc cameras were plentiful at second hand stores. Most had a 12.5mm lens of f2.8 to f4 aperture and of good quality. Might be a good lens to adapt to this type of project.

Anyone know what this filter is for?

Maybe a fluorescent light correction filter?

The Agat 18K vs the Kodak Ektar H35

Yeah, same info on the site I visited. Thanks. Don’t know why this simple camera interested me, can use my Pen anytime I want. The Pen is 13 oz. okay for a cargo pocket, otherwise I just have it on a neck strap. And, although the Agat 18 natural orientation is landscape it’s never been a problem...

The Agat 18K vs the Kodak Ektar H35

I have a question about the Agat. Are the shutter and aperture settings completely independent of each other? Can you set any combination of shutter speed and aperture? Also does it have a ‘B’ setting on the shutter. Although I’ve looked at photo swap meets never have actually found one to...

The Agat 18K vs the Kodak Ektar H35

Toyed with getting an Agat 18 but was held back by reports of fragile cameras. Anyway, my Pen original it finest half frame what could be. That bold statement will make Hess ask for pictures…sorry, don’t even know where to begin, computer stuff crushes me and I must have some energy field...

    Olympus Pen F or FT?

I’m with the ‘remove the self timer‘ (put in little baggie) school. Was able to buy an FV to go with my F, and, like r_a_feldman removed the whole self timer. It makes for a much sleeker camera and the lever always seemed to be catching on my clothing. If the rare need arises for a self timer I...

    Who Likes Olympus Half-Frame SLRs?

I have an F and FV, the F is a plain matte screen and a breeze to focus (especially since my cataract surgery last fall). The FV? Oh dear, it’s darker than my F, shouldn’t be but is. And has a micro prism focusing aid that drives me crazy (short trip). Since I was introduced to 35mm SLR’s have...

    Who Likes Olympus Half-Frame SLRs?

The metering on the D models is pretty anemic. I’ve had a Pen D and the meter was dead. No loss, it was no slower to use my hand held meter, if needed. The lens on my Pen D was excellent at 5.6 or so. Since there is no rangefinder you need to estimate distance and set focus via a scale, stopping...

Kodak Ektar H35 half frame camera review part deux!

Thanks for the heads up Huss. I hate *HATE* shopping but at the same time don’t want to get overcharged. I have actually bought a lens from the Pergear site, the 10mm pancake lens. It was pure chance, opened the site one morning, relaxing with my coffee. For some reason they had that lens in my...

Kodak Ektar H35 half frame camera review part deux!

Yeah, I know the other one is full frame, I was just addressing the price issue with ‘toy’ cameras. B&H has always been my goto to check prices and availability but with supply problems it seems not so much anymore. Today their site was completely out of both Kodak and Fuji 35mm color negative...

Kodak Ektar H35 half frame camera review part deux!

The rewind and back looks identical to my Wide and Slim, as does the 22mm lens (tiny front element/large rear element). No surprise as Reto is also selling that model too. I would think if one were very careful with winding on and rewinding that it could last for some time. As for price? Yeah...

Photrio's first Kodak Ektar H35 review!

Thanks Huss! Nice samples and they look plenty sharp, that 2 element plastic lens seems quite good. Maybe I should go ahead and put a roll in my Wide and Slim, pretty sure it’s the same lens.

New half frame camera - call for Beta testers!

I’ve thought about that also Oren. I have 3 manual lenses for my M4:3 that are also sold in mounts for APS size mirrorless ( one each from Pergear, TTArtisan, and 7Artisan) But the problem that immediately presented itself was that all 3 have lens elements that are too close to the image plane...
