Working with a camera tester and a depth micrometer: Checking and adjusting a Nikon F3/T

Depending on which PowerShot you have, that might be a consumer-replaceable item. A couple of the Powershots have a standard CR1220 (maybe; it's been a while) tucked away in the battery compartment.

[CLAIM REFUTED]: Frequent failure of ICs (integrated circuits) in 1980s SLRs - Consequences

I believe NIkon's FPCs were, and maybe still are, made by Mektec.

Windows 10 support is over. Likely switching to a version of Linux

Perhaps you could connect the drive via a powered USB hub, or simply use a DVD drive that accepts optional power via a second USB cable, adapter or whatever.

Unknown Artifacts on Rollei 4x5 Sheet Infrared 400 Film

That is a very cool bit of sleuthing.

Windows 10 support is over. Likely switching to a version of Linux

I'm a bit late to this particular Win 10 fest, but because MS is no longer automagically supplying Windows 10 security updates to anyone other that the vast number of people who have signed up for the one-year extension, there are third parties still keeping Windows 10 (and other versions)...

    Mint RF70 Scam?

This looks like the item that was sold on 10/10/2025 for $265 then, presumably, returned: it's the same photo. I'd be interested to know if the camera that went out in that box was the same one that was returned in that box: lots of things can happen with returns. You looked at the seller's...

Sold GONE TO A NEW HOME: Black Pentax Program Plus with electronic fault

The display shows "1000" until the frame counter has been wound to "0". Maybe it's working?
  8. FALSE ALARM: The loss of Photomacrography.net - Info?!

It was having trouble with its hosting back in July. Maybe the problem has returned. It works for me, though.

    Osaka Yodobashi Camera Film Selection

And while brbo is waiting, he can take a few photos of the unnecessarily large number of red torii at Nezu Shrine, just down the street, and/or have a coffee at the mystery cafe en route: answer the riddles on Ellery Queen and get a discount on the next visit (riddles are in Japanese).

Olympus OM1 winder/shutter release idler gear screw size

Do you have the service manual? I can't decide which component you're referring to, but the service manual should give you the part number, and then Appendix A should give you the screw size. Failing that, it should indicate where else that particular screw is used, so you can remove that one...

So do you happen to know a photographer/cafe/exhibition space next to Tenmangujinja?

Canon T90: Solution found for the stubborn front flex connector, service and repairs on the T90 are no longer a gamble

Your T90 connectors may be part # CH2-6005-000, referred to as "gold connectors". I've no idea what that technology is. It's shown in the parts list of "Canon T90 Service Manual Exploded Views and Parts List", part No. C12-1902-000, October 1985. It's typed rather than type-set. It shows all the...

Fire protection when soldering and handling flammable solvents

My only comment on that particular fire blanket is that it's 1 square meter, so the illustration on the front might be a little misleading. I wouldn't rely solely on a fire blanket, and I'd be upset to discover a blanket wasn't large enough to help me egress a burning building. I do think...

Canon T90: Solution found for the stubborn front flex connector, service and repairs on the T90 are no longer a gamble

I think I disagree with this: this will bridge the line of contacts, which is not what is needed here. Andreas: if you ever need to make your own replacement strips, the material is readily available in many forms. A generic strip would have a pitch of around 0.1 mm (conducting slices each...
