That's a fabulous find, Andreas. So much of this type of technical information is lost, simply disposed of when it becomes less relevant to a service facility. I had been given a complete set of factory BMW service manuals from 1966 to 1980 in the early '80's. decades later I no longer had any...
I have a Beseler branded dry to dry tabletop RA4 processor. It is very simple to use. Fill the tanks, give it time for the chemicals to get to temp and roll the paper through. I replenish 100ml every 10 8x10 prints. At the end of a session I drain the tanks and then fill them with water and run...
I think this is the reason to get that MFA.
On the surface my career after art school had little to do with my degree, but had everything to do with my approach to art and life in the decades that followed. I can’t measure the economic influence it had, but more than 40 years later I use that...
If you would like to teach in the US, high school or college, the MFA will be valuable if not essential to be considered for a position. A position teaching art is very competitive unless you have already made a big impression in your field.

Fresnels provide a more even light across the beam and are more controllable. And you're going to be able to easily use scrims and barn doors. But they are heavy, cumbersome and less efficient than open face fixtures which is why the Lowel Light became so popular for docs and small films back in...
Oh, 10k! You would need to rent the jenny too.
Completely off the subject, for some reason I came across a video of one of the Mole-Richardson principles demonstrating striking a carbon arc. The light came with its own power supply- a cargo van containing the generator.
The old tungsten fresnels are actually incredibly cheap now that the industry has moved on to LEDs. 1 and 2k fixtures are like $100 or less. Not sunlight of course.
In terms of lenses, I bought a 14” Caltar/Ilex in shutter years ago, a copy of the Kodak Commercial Ektar. It was probably half of...
Yes, the Lee Gel Snap filter holder I find very handy. The gel sets are a bit expensive and easily damaged, but if I have it in my bag I know it will fit any lens I own.
I have a few. But if there is any wind I find the inside out black T shirt works best for me. And as mentioned above it is handy for protecting other gear in your bag. So I bring both.
Sorry about the misunderstanding. I figured out the comment shortly after posting the”?” and tried to delete the post- but couldn’t figure out how. I thought I edited it to the “.”, but created another post!
Anyway, not important. What was helpful to me was after years of trying to find one at...
