I am also interested in people’s experience with this. I use a NOVA slot processor and can drain the developer into a bottle between sessions. Related question. Do people use the color of the developer as a gauge of when it’s no longer good. i.e. where in the spectrum of clear yellow - yellow...

First roll of Harman Phoenix photos up!

Agreed. I love seeing the enthusiasm of the Harman staff in the @gainydaysss video. This film is not my thing, but chapeau to Harman for having the backs of a niche of a niche community. When I picked up my camera after 15+ years in the closet Harman and Ilford were still there.

Also note there is a photo on the web site blog with a QRCode that eeds to https://www.harmanphoto.co.uk/feedback, a currently non-functional website that I assume becomes active Dec 1.

    Harman Photo cryptic announcement/teaser

Here is what my phone translate is for the first paragraph: As we told you in this week's Analog News, Harman, the company that makes the Ilford brand film, is going to launch a new color negative film made 100% in the United Kingdom. It will be called Harman Phoenix and it will be ISO 200.

Does this mean you were rescued from one of the blue tubes? Was this a Willy Wonka situation?

LED strip Lights for Darkroom Safelight

When setting up my darkroom I could not find any info on the use of consumer-grade LED strip lights as a safelight - and whether it was safe. So I took a leap and am sharing my results for the good of the collective. I bought the BlissGlow LED strip party lights (with music synch effect - why...

    Most Dangerous Photo Shoot

Timely YouTube video on this subject from Thomas Heaton. Starts about 4:00 in Imagine you’re most dangerous photo shoot while having a video camera on another tripod and narrating YouTube video!

    Most Dangerous Photo Shoot

It’s an exhilarating and outer worldly experience. Walking out and stepping over stone fences that are thousands of years old. I really felt like I had reached the end of the world. Is that what get us in these situations - to experience and photograph unique places/events?

    Most Dangerous Photo Shoot

I wondered how you advanced the film. Did you cough to cover the click of the shutter?

    Most Dangerous Photo Shoot

What was your most dangerous photo shoot? Not as a professional, but for your passion. I mean the one where you hanging off an ice cliff and you have the voice of your spouse/partner/parent/children when they said to you "be safe." Where the inner dialogue is "Is this photo worth it if I...

    My first darkroom print

Congrats. On the both on having a teacher and on the first print. My first print in my new darkroom was upside down and a circle because I had the condenser head set wrong. Oh, did I mention out of focus. 🙄🫢

    The Darkroom Cookbook 5th Edition

Thank you for continuing to work on this resource. As someone who has built a new darkroom and renewing my passion after a long hiatus, I will look forward to buying a copy once ready. I do not have a copy now (apologies if the ideas below are already included). Given the renewed interest from...
