I have a 6X7 motorized back ( SD type), similar to the 6X8 version, that I like, but it's a convenience, not a regular habit. I suppose I use my SD regular 120 back just as much, and I probably prefer the no-battery assurance of it.
My chimney finder is definitely in the essential range if I...
Spring and Fall, I've been leaving my Rollei 35 loaded with Tri-X in the glove-box, but after reading these comments about the possibility of condensation damage, I'll carry it only when I go out.
The original problem that you described is likely one of lubrication.
You stated that the shutter plunger was at a comfort distance from the shutter button on the camera, when you first installed the grip, but that it did not retract all the way after the first ( or subsequent) triggers.
I'd...
It appears that I was thinking of the F4, and my comments, as you state, are wrong when applied to the F3. I've deleted my comment above, and apologize for the error.
My apology, you're completely right. I mis-remembered, ( maybe I was thinking of the F4?) and after checking the manual, it clearly states that the " ... meter is built not into the finder but the body." ( my emphasis.)
I'll correct my original note, and thank you for bringing it to my attention.
I'm not sure if this link will come through, but try :

There seem to be a selection of 575nm LEDs to investigate.
I've never considered a $value for my F4, I just find it a pleasure to use.
All LCD indicators are clear ( to my old eyes), but I did have to use a finer white marker for the film speed dial.
With a choice between my preferred FM2n, I like the F4 for autofocus + manual exposure + access to...
My first brand new 35mm camera was a Zenit E ( as described above, with the non-integrated meter), in about '68 ??
I still look at many of the slides that were captured in that camera, and it carried me through my first year of college, my two years of paper-mill, my first
( and second) love...
Well, I guess that answers my question completely. As ( I hope) I made clear, my idea was a completely intuitive approach, and was obviously one that had been addressed before.
Once again we see that " There is nothing new, under the Sun".....or something like that.
I'll have to try that out, but I'll experiment with digital first and see whether it makes sense in practice.
In theory, the difference between theory and practice is small. In practice, the difference between theory and practice is large.
