I did outdoor this morning, when the light is bright. Pretty sure didn't see any markings (yes, I advanced the film slowly while examining the red window from short distance). Guess I'll try with different roll.
Just borrowed an Ikonta 532/16 (yes, the one which gives you 11 instead of 12 frames).
I rarely use folding cameras, but still remember after instering the film you keep advancing it until number 1 is visible on the red window (on the back).
So I put a HP 5, and pretty sure didn't see any...
Borrowed a Nettar II 58/16 (lens is Novar-Anastigmat 75/4.5, Vario shutter) from a friend.
Since this is an old camera before the multi-coated lens era, I'd like to use a lens hood on it.
So far, no luck finding the original hood (1111 A32) on local marketplaces.
But I found Voigtlander 310/32...
Last month, I got the SB-15 flash which worked nicely on the Nikon F with AS-1.
Now I'm trying to use it my my Nikon S2 with a generic male-to-male PC sync cable.
This is how I setup the camera:
- Synchro selector dial points to X
- Slow speed shutter dial points to 1/30
- High speed shutter...
I have a few PC sync to 2.5mm cables like this:
Sure it can be plugged into the IIIF's flash port, but the port doesn't hold it tightly. It's very loose. On the other hand, it fits nicely on the Nikon S2 flash port.
Now I wonder, perhaps, I have to use the original Leitz cable, like this?
My Nikon SII came with a 28/3.5 lens. The focusing wheel is a bit stiff when distance scale shows 7 ft. So I have to focus by turning the lens. No issue when focusing via the lens, from 3 ft to infinity. Felt pretty normal.
Also, no issue when turning the focusing wheel from 3 ft to infinity...
Indeed. My photography preference (macro/close up and medium-tele lens) is best served with SLR (both in 35mm and medium format). But once you go bigger than 6x6, SLR felt pain in the a**. You'd want a RF, which is lighter.
Just sold my Kiev 88 prism finder because I don't use it much. Nevertheless, prism finders are useful for certain situations.
Since Hasselblad prism finders (PM45, PM90 etc) are in general more common in my city, is there a way to use it on the SL66 perhaps with a 3D-printed adapter?
As an ex-owner of M3 (and also tried the M2, M4, M6...), and now an owner of IIIF, I still recommend a M:
bigger VF, more modern lenses (including 3rd parties like Zeiss, Voigt, etc).
You have less options for the IIIF, like Voigt or Konica LTM lenses.
Some of my friends (SLR users) say it's...
Just purchased a Nikon S2 (with the 35 and 28 f/3.5). In my area, Nikon rangefinders are kinda rare sight. Easier to find Contax or Kiev RFs.
Now it makes me wonder:
- Are the accessories compatible? Say the body cap or rear lens cap.
- What about the lenses? A friend said it's possible to use...
Hi. Sorry for the late reply. Now my film back is having issue: cannot advance the film if it's attached to the camera, so cannot repeat the film loading process.
From memory, something like this:
After frame 12 is finished, then keep keep cranking the film advance lever till you feel it's...
I used to have both... in the end I prefer the Hassy. Why? Lighter, smaller body and square format
For handheld shooting, the Hassy felt more umm... ergonomic
If I extensively do studio or landscape work... then yes will pick the RB67.
